you are correct...t3quila heard "no" about 10 x before he finally got me to say yes.... very tough book to part with!Purchase number 3 in a short space of time and easily the bestDetective Comics 36 Crippen pedigree
it is no secret that of all the early tecs I have owned, that copy was my favorite...
happy it has found a home where it will be enjoyed as much as I did (twice!)
surprised you let it go Rick..you just got it back, but I guess every book has it's "price" (thumbs u
tell me about it

You can have right of first refusal.
Won't be cheap though
I've heard that before

More Fun undercopies available (54, 56, 60)! in the gold section
thanks

but, even if I had a 27 and all the other per-robin tecs, these two just go together, like thor's twins; at least I have always thought of them that way. Hasen't their Overstreet rank and value always been equal?

latest addition to the 31:

As I said, quite a coincidence!

What a coincidence! I will be getting my black cat back from CGC any day to join the TOT. Both 9.2 C/OW pages! Except the file copy in my case is the black cat.

been great bill, thanks. Happy new year to all.
Still looking for a house; wife likes the areas where the LOTS start at a million
-
Great looking #8, it used to be in my collection; glad its in a good home. Do you need a 31 to go with it?
-
MF 61, upgrading my spectre/sandman covers, caps, tecs, completing my high grade x-men run, that's about it.
-
Thanks, gents; that is my copy. I've sold my tecs to Rick (except for this one) and have been pretty silent on GA pickups. I keep an eye on the boards though.

I hope you don't feel any regret- you have an unrestored tec31! We have all overpaid for books from time to time; if you have overpaid it is not by much. Don't let your buyer's remorse get to you. Enjoy it!

If anyone EVER has an unrestored Detective 29 or 31 to sell, please let me know! (I know, I know...I'm preaching to the choir...)
I have this one; you might be able to pry it from me:

Holy *spoon*! Are these books unrestored?

Latest purchases:
Blast you koko, you beat me to that 37 by a day or two. Congratulations. What's the deal with the grease pencil "s" collection anyway? Metro's 33 also has it.

Low grade 60 is on the way, but I do need a 61.

Check it out guys- the fruit of my labor for 3 years:

Yowza!!! so where do you sleep....and do I spy a couple of Church copies in the bed?

Now, let me channel the Fish..
If you only had a Tec 29 to throw in the middle of them!
How 'bout this:

Yeah, but my wife just got wind of all my activities and put my comic budget on hold! In fact, if we find the right house to buy I may be forced to have a giant sell-off that would dwarf Bill's recent one!
-
I've wanted to see that too. RHG - you have the full run, correct?
I'm closing in on a run of the early ones, but I still have a handful left to go.
DRHG; do you have 27 (the diver cover)?
-
Thanks to Bill:
Gorgeous book!

Not really; I'm trying to put together a run too! (mine will stop at 37 though). It would take a pretty sweet more fun 60, adventure 40, better tec or something to make me move this book.

DAMMIT- who snatched the 37 from metro- I was about to move on it!!!
they snatched the UNRESTORED 5.0 #36 I was thinking about as well
hello all...
metro did not have an unrestored 5.0 #36 on their site yesterday?...Vin told me that the cover had been cleaned on that book ( the $3K copy)...otherwise, I would have had it long ago
since I completed the tecs, I had not been hitting the detective part of the site daily, recently...was the 37 the $5900 copy?...that one looked pretty good, but it had been on their site since last year? or was this a new copy?
rick
ok, so now I'm confused, I remember they had 3 copies of Tec #36,
one 8.5 cvr cleaned for $7,390, (still on their site)
one 8.0 ct/cvr cleaned for $2,000 (still on their site)
and the 5.0 for $3,000, which is the one that is gone now, was this book restored ?? the listing didn't say anything about resto.
Yeah, I called Vin too about the 5.0 tec 36 and he told me too that there is a high possibility that it was cleaned/restored. If it were unrestored, either myself or Rick would have picked it up when it first came out.
well, now I don't feel so bad about missing it,.. someone did buy it right ?
hello all...
we can assume so, since it is not listed on their site...don't feel bad, I had vin confirm the cover had been aqueously cleaned, if I remember correctly (but this was last year)...both brian and I had been looking at it...since an unrestored 36 is tops on my list (COOLJ, oh COOLJ...help a brother out!)....
but, I used to see a ton of 36's, so I am sure some will pop up sooner or later!
rick
I was wondering why one of you Tec guys hadn't snatched that one up, , now I know.
Yep.. We are pretty much on top of things on Metro's Tec books. Rick, what condition is COOLJ's tec 36? Has he posted a pic on here yet? Thanks.
Brian

those gems are fine- and based on my feelings reading the above posts about my former book- will not be going anywhere!!
