  1. Ah yes guys, my mistake was relying on my brain and knowing that every package had been sent and that I have had media mail take up to a couple of weeks to arrive, especially heavy stuff. I searched and searched and couldn't find the receipt so I presume they didn't get sent. I shipped over 40 of these things out for the lady I was raising money for and it was at a hectic time so I guess as the saying goes, poop happens. I did sent him another note asking what to do and was waiting for that and I never saw a reply so it slipped my mind.

Havent been on in a while because of issues at both works and trying to relocate the store.

I have his set and am shipping tomorrow with a freebie for all the problems. I am not out to screw anyone, this is one of those that shouldn't have ...but fell thru the cracks so to speak.

  2. welcome conan,

since dealing with you guys, I have made a lot of customers happy. I like the system and the way I have received books in a timely manner and packed extremely well. Even the silver age books I have gotten have been right on gradewise. THe only downside is the time lag in sending, receiving, checking in, ordering, shipping, etc. but I realize you guys are a huge operation so I am ok with non-amazon like service :).

  3. I think it all has to do with the graders as well. I have gotten some less than par stuff from them but it was for customers and they were glad to have just found it.

I have sent them some trade and they have graded it pretty harshly I thought. Other times it has been pretty lenient so I am guessing its who you get to grade your sent in order and then luck of the draw if you get something less than you thought.

I have gotten stuff from them that was undergraded as well. About like buying from any online place where you can't see the books up front or have the satisfaction of knowing the grader beforehand.

  4. I find it hilarious that you will block people that you've had an internet spat with forever (seems like cutting your nose off to spite your face), yet you have absolutely no qualms with bidding/buying book from Comic-Keys, a known crook that has defrauded countless numbers of collectors.

I guess as long as nothing happens to YOU, it's all good.

Sorry - I do not buy comics from Comic-Keys. I have no idea where you get your info - you need to check my feedback left for others and then get back to me Mr. Sherlock Holmes

no one's business who or what I buy/sell.

    CAL (tsk)

Hmmm, would you like to recant this former statement now or after I post what you wrote a little later (that you do know it to be C-K).

what was it you said......oh yeah something like

    open mouth -insert foot -typical

  5. Whatever a couple hundred longboxes hold....

As for your victorian home, I would be careful with that weight. Of course it depends on how you distribute it but I wouldn't stack them high on each other. I am a civil engineer and this is not a professional opinion. One of those would cost you smile.gif.

  6. I was being saracastic. Being 7 feet above sea level, and only 100 yards or so from the water, flooding is certainly possible. In fact, if there were a tsunami, we'd be pretty much screwed. Only one road off the peninsula.

Well you wouldn't believe the people who forget about indoor water problems. I myself had some stuff stored in the garage (which has a wood floor and a workroom underneath it) which got wet. My kids brought the hose in and instead of getting it all in the mud sink, they left part out on the floor. You guessed it, they had water still in it and it leaked out on the floor. Before it could hit the drain, it got some boxes. YIKES.

  7. So does your house get serviced by water pipes? Still a possibility for flooding, especially if your hot water heater is in the basement (bet ya it is). We live on top of a hill and have had water get in our finished basement. It was during a drought when the ground dried up so much it broke the "improperly installed" piping running from outside into the basement.

    *spoon* Happens!

Protect from flooding (from both above, leaking toilets, tubs, etc) and below.
