  1. I expected these kind of posts from people specifically when I speak down about someone who is so liked.

Most of these people will be in Baltimore in October at the con.

Care to show up in person to argue your case?

    :P

Oh what... you going to beat me up?

No, just a one on one discussion.

    Up for that Buddy???

I was reading the thread just minding my own business and I felt like I was going to stay out of this one :) But now it comes to someone giving out threats to beat them up.

If you don't want someone on the boards ignore them that simple. But telling someone that you want them to go to a comic show to beat them up thats something else.

BTW Timmy I'm your Hucklebery. Russ is a friend I have decided to let him fight his own battles on the forums but personal threats is diffrent.

Is it just me or is it CS and his friend/Shill that is suggesting the physical confrontation here and not Timmay?

Maybe it's not sharon that has the 3rd grade reading skills. hm

  2. CS, if you fix all your bad dealings and then continue to provide first rate customer service, you may one day get off the list and be accepted here. If you don't do this, and keep person_without_enough_empathying on the boards about a technicality, you have no chance of being left alone here.

Yes, the history of your transactions made it doubtful that I would deal with you, but now, due to your posting attitude, I will not do business with you. It’s the actions of yours that I have seen myself that have turned me off.

So my advice, contact all your back orders and get the customers happy, don’t wait for people to contact you. Once you have fixed your business, do better in the future, if then people don’t leave you alone, the forget them and continue doing right.

Until then, deal with it and quit person_without_enough_empathying.

Edit: P.S. could someone PM what happened with Trey since I missed the actual details.

  3. Not sure where to post this but figured this was the place.

In SD Steve B. took Connor(CapFreak) under his wing, and as I understood it hooked him up with a hotel, passes etc.. Very nice thing to do...giving a kid a second chance because we all make mistakes.

Long Story short, Conner somehow got Steve's cell phone and left a less then desirable message on Steve outgoing voice mail. Why I do not know, but I do know it cost Steve dearly in terms of cleaning up the mess.

Connors parents were contacted and they pretty much did nothing.

If any of this is incorrect Conner please feel free to set me straight, otherwise take a hike.

Isn't this something Steve or Cap should be revealing vs. hearing it second hand on a public forum? Not trying to defend his actions, if true, but this doesn't seem to be one of those issues that should be exposed by anyone other than the original parties on a message board...

    Jim

I disagree. I'm glad Kenny posted it. It just reinforces the fact that Connor is a clueless little individual_without_enough_empathy that doesn't care about anybody else but himself. :sumo:

    +1

I met Steve for the first time at SDCC and he was a pleasure. He made me feel like I was important and he couldn't have been friendlier. I would imagine that he is just too classy and kind to bring this up and I appreciate Kenny doing so.

It's obvious that capfreak hasn't learned much from his 4 visits to the probation list and he does indeed bite the hand that helps him.

+1. Steve is one of the nicest people I've met. It just sucks that his good nature got him stung this time.

No respect left for Cap_Freak at all now. What a little person_without_enough_empathy

  4. You could make a mistake on the odds. Admit it rocky, you don't like me, you won't ever, you will stop at nothing to continue to irritate me. Hence your continued bullhonk Comicfant is CS, and CS is 8mile, and blah blah

Sorry Cs I have to call you on this. He did nothing but try to offer you advice to help you repair some of your rep on here, and you bashed him and started to insult him. His current attitude has nothing to do with liking you, I don't think.

  5. The point is I feel that everyone deserves a second chance, except Alley Bat he knew what he was doing.

Comic Supply has already had a second chance. Apparently, he's had several dozen of them. And many of the people that were screwed over by him have said the same thing...that they have repeatedly emailed him and left him phone messages and they have been summarily ignored. Both Comic Supply and Alley Bat knew exactly what they were doing. They both earned their spots in the Probation List Hall of Shame and they should both stay there.

I don't think that's the case so far all i seen was 5 people say that he owed, and he is trying to fix it now. Show some goodwill and lets see what happens

My question 8mile is, do you not believe longstanding board members when they say that he has done this routine muliple times? He has multiple years of complaints from multiple customers?

I'm all for letting the past be the past if he shows a long standing patern of doing the right thing and addressing cutomer errors and complaints in a timely manner. I don't expect him to be flawless in his business, no one is, but with so many people stating that he doesn't answer e-mails or phone calls, I see his history more as not caring if things got messed up.

He quickly goes in and out of his mood swings and reactions to advice and complaints. I have no beef with him, and he hasn't insulted or offended me, but his attitude toward the situation on the board, has put me off having business dealing with him. I understand being mad, but there is a way to handle it and a way not to on a venue you wish to start business on again.

Here's hoping he settles with all previously wronged customers. :wishluck:

  6. Well I don't know how to answer your statement because I have seen two sides of the topic where one thinks that non colour breaking creases are flaws and some that say that they are not flaws which goes back to whether it is restoration or not.

I will note that when CGC grades or using the overstreet grading guide that they are listed as flaws that reduce the grade.

My opinion is that it is a flaw being removed by pressing thus restoration since it is being restored to a previous condition. Some of these guys say that it is not restoration.

I think when you have a community divided such as we are on the topic that it must be a negative thing thus why I do not like pressing and would like to keep my books pressed free in their damaged natural state.

    Guys,

Let's not turn this into a thread moralizing about pressing and whether it's natural or unnatural or any of the other tangents these pressing threads go off on. Let's try to stick to a discussion of what effects pressing has on comics. There are tons of other pressing threads where you guys can debate the morality of pressing or any other aspect of pressing.

    agreed. I will stop now.

  7. Well their is a lot of issues with this subject one being disclosure and how if people keep pressing books and it becomes commonplace raises the chance of there being a pressed book in my colection in which I do not want. I want no restored books in my collection. If they want to press their books for their personal collection that will never be sold then go nuts. But when they are releaseing these books undisclosed and such in which I have no control over stopping these books getting into my collection is just wrong. I should have a choice in the matter if I want a pressed book or not. If pressing becomes commonplace then they are taking that right away from me thus it is wrong

I'll agree with the possible robbing you of that choice is wrong, but that is a thing with people not the process. And when you start labeling processes as evil it just makes you come off as an extremist and loses your point for many.

  8. I think flaws are dependent on the person. And I'm not here to debate the restoration classification. I believe it is, by any defenition of restoration, restoration. However, it seems that more people focus on the use of it to enhance HG books to even higher grades. Now if people want to debate the ethics on that, my position may be different, but pressing, in itself is not evil. Neither is a topic that people don't agree on, any good community will have it's difference in opionion and knowledge, or else it'd be very boring and useless.

  9. So would reading a comic, or leaving it in a hot car or warehouse, or improper storage techniques, or if the relative humidity was too high, or mailing abook improperly (or even properly).

In which I would hope we would try and do those things as less as possible for those of us that want to kep our comics pristine as possible. Thus pressing = BAD.

but by that logic reading the books = Bad. So am I suppose to disclouse if I've read my comic book?

    YES

    lol

Interestingly enough some people on ebay actually disclose if the book has been read or not in their ebay auction. Usually that they have been unread.

but yet you'd still buy a book that has been read or handled. Everything that happens to a book, inculding pressing, is all on the secondary market. There is no natural or unnatural treatment. There is common and uncommon. It wasn't common for people to take great care of their comics in the 1940's and 50's, it is common now. it wasn't common for pressing 60 years ago (?), it is becoming more comon now.
