Cant something be autostamped somehow next to someones name to show they were on the PL or HOS at some point. Like as part of a sig, or on the sidebar next to their name? There has to be a way to work that in somehow?
I propose a third category, The Tool Shed.
Once a member is removed from the PL, they go directly to the Tool Shed for life where they will not suffer buying or selling incumbrances but will be identified as a tool.

Just a word of warning about anyone purchasing form Mikeggg in the mixed age section.
He sold me one of those books on ebay and never delivered it. PM'd him on the boards and on ebay and received nothing but lies, before being flat out ignored.
Buy at your own risk.
post the information in the sales thread

How do you figure the weight alone of the lid is a pound or two. Applying slightly more pressure with your hands is not going to break anything. Yeah if you gorilla press the book you will break the glass. Enough pressure to flex the slab a bit is all you need.
Otherwise have fun with the glare
You are probably right, but it just makes me nervous.
Is there no way to fix the glare issue via software settings??? I still don't understand the settings like "adaptive lighting", etc...
The scanning head runs very close to the glass. Pressing on the glass will make it flex and it can stop the head. The motor still turns so it can get crooked or otherwise out of alignment.
I've got a dead A3 scanner that locked up from weight of books without any additional pressing.
I'm just saying to be careful.

same thing happened to me with a microtek

Is the unsightly indentation problem something new or has it been occasionally occurring since the beginning?
I have owned several hundred CGC books over the years and have never seen it in hand.

And if i'm being harsh...people will tell me so.
no way the shipping cost counts toward the minimum purchase requirement

would you even know what steve ditko even looks like today let alone that his sig isnt real on the bascily grumpy letters he writes?
Photo Journalist Jean-Gerard Jakobs, from the New Hampshire Tribune, got fired in 2008, when he illegally entered Rita Malone's home (Steve Ditko's Grand-daughter)..during the now infamous Citlali Vega wedding; he snapped a series of images such as this one:
Mrs Malone's threat to Sue the newspaper, brought about the December 2008 apology to her family, but the photo mishaps could not be undone. Here is Ditko talking to Citlali's sister during the post-wedding party....
is he drinking a Beck's ?

wtf. BS he doesnt. How is that any kind of warning to the community??Okay, re-listed and sold so in the end I sold the book, only it was a month after it originally sold.I am for the time-out list.

toyman does not go on the pl
but has suffered the public humiliation of having their integrity questioned
what am I missing?
are any of the following statements incorrect?
1. the seller did not wait the full 30 days for payment before relisting
2. the seller informed the prospective buyer that he would prefer to relist as opposed to waiting
3. the book is now sold so no true remedy is available

Converserly, as undergraded books are identified and flip hands and work their way through the ringer(s) (and make no mistake, there are books out there that have been pressed, re-pressed, and post-re-pressed as the new "owners/investors" have no history that a book has already been pressed and re-pressed), the % of overgraded CGC books will increase as each book is maxed out. That, and the loosening of CGC's standards over the last few years, has resulted in an overall population of CGC graded books that lean towards the low end of the grade spectrum.
The fact that a book as expensive as the Pacific Coast Hulk 1 has been resubbed many times tells me that the more expensive/rare/highly sought after a book is, the more likely it is that it'll have a "checkered" resub history. Combine that with your point about overgraded/overworked books and the astronomical rise in the prices of many key books, and you can only conclude that buyers will continue to get far less for their collecting dollar.
If I had money that I couldn't afford to lose tied up in books, I'd be dumping like it's hot.
A little data to support a rational argument. Here's a snapshot of the PC TOS run.
These books were run through the ringer multiple times. High grade to start with, but that wasn't quite enough.
Every squeeze was undertaken to maximize their monetary potential...
that's beautiful.
I'm impressed with how much pressing improves page quality

My guess is, we could have a vote...
one vote for off the list once the books are received
1. no one lost any money except for the seller
2. seller has apologized
3. seller is trying to make amends
4. enjoy Communication Breakdown, link to follow

So never had cause to use this thread before but what can a seller do to a buyer?
I sold some books a week and a half ago. Buyer gets them saying one slab is cracked. I told him to send me pics of the box and of the slab so I could see because they were double boxed. Buyer then removes himself from the topic and opens a paypal claim. I replied to the claim and then to the buyer in a new pm. New pm states that I offered a counter refund to cover a reholder fee and that he cannot get a response to me if he removes himself from the topic. Without replying he simply removes himself from that pm as well.
Edit: Sale was for two books shipped for $110. I think I had them up for 60 each. Buyer is asking for $80 in the refund.
you may have to wait for the paypal outcome and see if the book is returned before you can nominate the buyer
if you want, out the buyer anyway and see if he/she shows up here

Over 5,000 packages sent. Major positive feedback on my packaging. I would like to see someone package better.
If it is better than Timmay, I would like to see that video.

The only thing he owned was a property
perhaps you could get a lien against the property that would have to be settled if he ever did try to sell it
I am not a lawyer and have never played one on tv.
