  1. Wow, just looked that book up and it's really selling! Maybe I should just open mine and get them in bags/boards...
  2. Yeah, thanks - I said Voldy (meaning they who should not be named), but sometimes the shorthand doesn't translate well. If that one sells, it'll be interesting in the long run to see what the difference is between a CGC and non-CGC sale. Also watching to see what happens with that CGC $5,500 - I'm sure it'll be a best offer, but I wonder where? I couldn't afford a 9.8 (even the missed opportunities listed above), but as the new owner of an 8.5, I figure a rising tide lifts all ships, and this is actually really fun to watch and track!
  3. Couple new 9.8's just hit the 'Bay, one for $5,500 OBO and another (voldy) for $3,250 starting bid, no BIN...
  4. I heard ASM 365 newsstands are selling pretty well...
  5. Found it!! I was right on some things and wrong on some, but the Deathmate thing helped me on the trail of the different colors, thanks! (though I was wrong about the covers): The series is "Exquisite Corpse" from Dark Horse in 1990. It was a 3 part series that could be read in any order. I never read it, but I remember wanting to and then forgetting about it. Here's an ad from the back of Frank Miller's "Give Me Liberty" (which is probably why I thought the colors were more pronounced on the book covers):
  6. That must be it, but it just doesn't feel right in my head - I do remember the color thing though, but those covers just don't look right, I remember this series having solid or mostly solid color covers. But thanks for this, maybe I'm just meshing two or three things in my head!
  7. Correct, not that, but thanks for the try! I feel like it started with an F maybe? Ha, my memories aren't helpful at all...
  8. I'm hoping someone can help me out, this has been bugging me lately. I'm trying to remember the name of a limited series, I think it was four issues but could have been six. It most likely would have been late 80s, or in the 90s I think? I feel like it might have been a Dark Horse series but I'm not 100% on that. The "gimmick" with this series is that you could read the issues in any order you chose, there was no real #1, #2, etc. It was up to the reader how you read the issues to get the full story. Anyone have any clue what I'm talking about? Sorry I don't have more to go on and my memory of it is so all over the place...
  9. Found 2 Venom packs at my Walmart - neither are going to be a 9.8, there are corner issues and looks like a couple of spine tics. Not sure whether to open these and see what's inside, hold them sealed for a bit, or sell them sealed. Sealed packs have been selling for usually around $20 (couple $10 sales, couple $30 sales, but mostly in the $20-$25 range). I can see the sides of the other comics and can tell at least one is that Champions/Avengers lenticular, but can't tell the others. The Venom is going to be tough to find in a really high grade since it's on the front and these things don't seem like they're handled very carefully...
  10. I'm not sure, it's a good question - maybe people are trying to find "deals" on raws or are turned off by the high start bid that isn't a BIN? Or maybe there's just more interest in buying graded? Another 9.6 sold for a BIN of $1,150 (and that is starting to look like a steal at this point actually), and a 9.4 listed at a BIN of $1,500 or best offer sold for a best offer price of $1,400. There have been a few raw sales lately in the $800 range too though. If you still have a line on that 9.6 for $1k and you can afford it, you may want to think about getting in on it, just my ...
  11. Two more absolutely crazy sales today - a 9.4 W Direct for $1,625 (5 bids) and a 9.6 W Direct for $1,700 (64 bids!)
  12. At a 9.8, your Giant Size Man Thing is way above average - congratulations on such an impressive specimen!
  13. Love 'em! And it looks like I'm the proud owner of the only 9.6 Gary Frank cover variant Doomsday Clock 12 currently on the census...
  14. Picked up a couple more books on the boards the other day, thanks @rjahn98! Here are a couple of my favorites: Absolutely love this cover, will look great next to my Batman 404 (if I ever figure out exactly how I want to set up a comic display...): And this one might look cool next to my Batman 244 that is on its way: Of course I had to have this one as a Joker freak: And Dell'Otto is one of the best, and this is a sweet cover: : And finally, first Robin King:
  15. I spy a couple of currently heating up Turtles - nice price!
  16. Great communication, fast shipping and the books are excellent. Thanks!!
  17. Another of my all-time favorite covers, and part two of one of my favorite Joker stories. I love this era 'Tec run - great writing, moody art, cool characters... and Silver St. Cloud. Picked this one up at a fair price from High Grade Comics, thanks @blazingbob!
  18. I've often heard of X-men 94 as the "poor man's" GSXM 1 since it has a lot of great second and third appearances and it's the first new team appearance in the main title series. Still pretty pricey, but not as pricey as X-Men 1 (and it's the new team that most people associate as the X-Men) or GSXM 1...
  19. Yeah, that back cover is pretty sweet - I was luckily able to grab both 46 and 47 recently in a really nice grade for about $1 over cover.
  20. I'm hoping 46 heats up more too - 47 has the first Space Usagi story, but 46 has a Space Usagi "prototype" spread:
  21. You should look at their ASM 300 values - they've been undervalued for weeks, then had a slight bump across all grades yesterday, and now it's been downgraded again... I did notice the used to show stuff currently for sale on eBay and it looks like that stopped working...
  22. 46 has the first Space Usagi as a "prototype" - it's like a character file spread thing, like the DC Who's Who kind of. 47 has the first Space Usagi story as a back-up story, where Usagi meets Space Usagi.
