  1. I don't think he will ever let me live this one down. I sent out his package and put in $400 for the total price of the 30 books but I neglected to notice that the stupid price was per book so they wanted him to pay fees on $12,000!! I'll look a lot more carefully on the next one - thank goodness E-Bay takes care of all that stuff when I sell books to people up north.
  2. You're not wrong but that is not how rankings go in any competition. If he finished the competition right now there would be side contest to determine which one of the people with 11 gets 1st, who gets 2nd and the loser of that group would get 3rd. The people who you refer to as being in 2nd place would be content to share 4th and 5th place since the top three spots are taken by the people with 11.
  3. I really don't want to get into a tie breaker with The General! Hopefully he will rocked up to 1st place and stay away from my 6th place.
  4. I'm in 6th place (or at least tied). Things get stressful when you are not out of it in the last round
  5. I looked and each of the high grade copies had that weird scratch mark on the back. Sure made me take a few looks.
  6. 3 bullseyes and 1 off but the SW 8 was a complete guess at 7.0 so 3 points for the round. I’ve seen perfect books get a 6.0 but the staples were very ugly. I bet it would have gotten 7.0 or worse if it was visible from the outside.
  7. It would take awhile to get over $300 considering all the not even close to key books in the set but I guess $3 a book is possible. I don’t get even close to the eyeballs he gets so the set could sit for years at that price.
  8. You sold a death in the family book to a 6 year old? Hope he knows Robbin didn’t stay dead.
  9. Kids are getting into comics for the 1st time in Canada. They are a little bit behind the states up there.
  10. He is correct. The couple other sets were cut off and shown next. I'm envious they get so many people paying hundreds of dollars for sets.
  11. Lot to do about basically nothing especially since the group photos are way too far away to determine grades or how books present. All the sets are billed as high grade so I can see why they would take one set of pictures and use them for a few different sets if they are basically the same.
  12. Wow - that is a lot of red I'd think we would be seeing a lot more green on the left side of the chart with it being the start of comic book season. And everything is over $350 so this is the good stuff and we still see so much red. That's sad. I don't have GPA but we must be seeing 2018 - 2019 prices at this point with a lot of these books.
  13. Wow - I’m only 2 points out of the top spot since pretty much everyone sucked this round. Typically having 10 points after 2 rounds would put you in the middle of the pack.
  14. I couldn’t have been more wrong on the round if I tried. Always next year
  15. My grades where in yesterday so I'm not a slacker. But his emojis this time don't give me much hope with staying up in the front.
  16. There is a lot of e-bay buyers who only look at the starting items each day to see if there are deals coming available so they are playing the game that renewing the items each day will get a ton of views for the books. E-Bay gives so many free listings each month that smaller sellers can use this practice and have very little cost. People who buy books frequently catch on and avoid those books but there is enough newbies that come around that it makes sense to them. If I don't have the time to post new books or run auctions then I will close and relist 50 books every now and then throughout the month since it does generate increased views and sales. E-Bay has become a sea on books so it's tough to not get lost especially if your books are not search worthy.
  17. I went 8.0/9.2/9.2/8.5/9.2 which isn’t too bad with 3 points. Thought the stain on the Power Girl book would bring it down a bit.
  18. Nice batch of books up for sale and a very large assortment of items in a large store is definitely a receipt for nice sales. With almost 5x the number of items that I've got up for sale I can see why you can generate 10 items a day in sales!
  19. What's your e-bay store, Chip? I'd love to see how your store is set up since I've been stuck selling about 2 or 3 items a day for the last year or so. I'd of course be able to get up to 10 items a day if I was willing to take 50% discounts on everything but that would delete the reason for having a store. But I'm glad things are selling for you.
  20. We watched it last night (well I tried). I fell asleep after an hour or so just because it got boring watching things blow up and light saber fights for hours on end. It wasn’t horrible but it felt like a rehash of a bunch of other movies with things just exploding everywhere. Even the sappy moments just didn’t connect and I can see why it’s getting bad reviews.
  21. I'd agree his stuff is harder to find then Adams but those Alien Worlds books were everywhere a few years ago in people's $5 boxes. I can't tell you how many Jonny Quest 5 copies I've bought over the years and now they are going for $50. It's a fad and I'm selling as fast as possible if I can find copies.
  22. Next you are going to tell me Stevens was better than Zeck. Stevens was good but I'd rather collect Hughes or Campbell if I'm looking for girl art. Regardless of your taste in artists there is no reason Stevens stuff became so hot after so many years. They are not more hard to get then a few years ago. Not better now than in 2021 but people are acting like they have never seen his stuff before. The market is fickle so you have to embrace the shifts but I don't see why his stuff will remain as hot as they have been this year.
  23. Somebody will yell squirrel and the market will run after the next hot thing so my money this being a temp fad and people should be selling if they want top dollar. His stuff isn't reigniting due to young people loving it and it's not like he is tapping into current politics or fashions so I don't think it has legs. Great art is all over the place (ie Art Adams stuff is way better) but you don't see people paying 5x prices for his stuff all the sudden.
