  1. Thanks for this post, a lot of great stuff here. Seems like a great blueprint for Silver age keys! Yes I am trying to learn more about Silvers and it does seem the late 60s were an interesting time for Marvel, kind of a transition point of ushering in the Bronze Age
  2. Isn't that the truth, Joe! I never grumble about all the shoes..... Never thought of Strange Tales even, good call. Lots of good stuff starts out on this run as well with Nick Fury and Dr Strange. I also thought of doing the Nick Fury Agent of SHIELD run awhile back and kind of forgot about it. It's crazy how much these have gone up, Silver Surfer 1 at $4,400 for 9.2 on Go Collect
  3. I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on Hulk 102. Don't have much in the Silver Age department and thought maybe this would be a good starting point. I love the Hulk, and the issue is currently priced at a friendlier price than other run starters from 1968 such as Captain America 100 or Iron Man 1. Any other ideas on a good starter for Silver Age collecting? I have always eyed up Iron Man & Sub-Mariner 1 as a starter as well. Obviously I can wish for a lot, but there are only so many $500 plus books I could get in a year at this point.
  4. I wondered if anyone had any thoughts on X-Men #98, and the Cockrum issues in general. Seems a lot of these are selling at way higher than GoCollect, I see a 6.0 #94 went for $500 on eBay. Lots of great stuff in the Cockrum run, and it is one I have started to work on, one that I have always wanted in my collection. I would hate to think I am getting into this at peak, with a movie announcement being expected sooner or later I think the sky is the limit on these in the short-term, but where do you think prices will settle after the hype is over? Higher or lower than prices now?
  5. Newbie here that could join this club. Love Iron Fist! Unfortunately not stabbed, have always thought of submitting... maybe an 8.0/8.5?
  6. Thank you thunsicker! I truly think the 70's-early 90's was just an amazing time all around for Marvel, but especially X-Men. Claremont is legendary.
  7. Thought I would revive this thread. I am working on this run as well, and I noticed that 98 is really pricey on eBay in 9.2-9.6, and it appears to be low supply on eBay, unless maybe this is a census issue as well? I think there was a 9.2 at $220 a 9.2 at $240ish. Way above Go Collect. Is the run really heating up this much or should us interested purchasers hold out for more to come up? I attached my most recent purchase in the run.
  8. I am new here but I can proudly say I am a part of this club! On #94 that is. Would love a GSX1 one of these days
  9. Hello everyone, New to this website's board. I took about an 8 year hiatus from the hobby and am now slowly getting back into it. During the Covid shutdowns I started up again with a long desired purchase, X-Men 94. I have not gotten into any new books (as of yet), but am slowly working on the Cockrum run and trying to finish that and the Byrne run, all slabbed as well. Heck of a way to get back into the hobby! Look forward to talking about bronze/copper X-Men, Spideys, Hulks and Thors!
