  1. So yesterday I pulled one of those secret rare Pikachu Vmax cards, but the centering is off by quite a large margin. I wondered if submitting this as an error card would be allowed, with an off center indicator on the label similar to how PSA does it. I'm not sure that this is what the error indicator is meant for, but I thought I would ask before submitting either way to see if this was an option.

    Thank you,
    -Will

Authenticating them seems normal to me. "Grading" them is what makes literally no sense.

I personally see no reason why one could not "grade" a box on many of the same metrics as a single card. Are the corners in good shape? Is the coloration on par for what it is supposed to be? Is the surface scratched, dented, or otherwise marred? Is the box creased in the correct locations or is the art off-center? The way I see it, many of the same applications for single card or booster pack grading could, with relative simplicity, be applied to entire booster boxes. There may not be an accepted set of criteria that a box has to meet right now to receive a grade, but that does not mean that it couldn't or shouldn't happen. Ultimately, it comes down to what people find inherently worthwhile from an archival and collectible perspective. It's the same reason graded video games exist, to try and preserve a piece of culture and history.

I was charged when the grading was completed.  Also, it looks like they are approximately one week to open and scan in your orders, looking at that other thread.  My submission was in on 11/2, so I imagine I'll see it in the system sometime early this week.

I was just charged on Wednesday an and my order still reads "received," but as I said before, there is a good chance that mine is some fluke due to by shipping problem.

Does CGC grade non-factory cut (NFC) cards?

When I read this, I interpreted it to mean NFC as in Near-Field Communication and I thought that we were talking about cards with chips in them like Nintendo's Amiibo cards.

Hello I am a new Pokémon card collector and I am wondering if it would be smart to send in a couple cards to cgc. I’ve looked at all other grading services and this seems like it will be the best for me long term. I have a secret rare Salamander VMAX rainbow rare that I just pulled today as well as some other not as hyped cards, being grimmasnarl VMAX 115/189, Houndoom V 021/189, and Rhyperior V 095/189. I will submit photos of these and just want people’s opinions on whether or not I should send these cards in. Also how do I send them in and what price range would my cards go under.

    Hey friend,

First of all congratulations on those pulls! Especially the rainbow rare, it's pretty cool!

My advice would be to keep these cards clean and protected, while you acquire more. For semi-valuable cards, it's only going to be cost effective for you to get them graded if you have 50 or more to grade at a time, at least in my opinion. CGC will allow you to submit any card under $100 in declared value as part of the "Bulk" tier, which is often going to be the best and cheapest way to get modern cards graded.

    Hope this helps!

I am wondering how long it takes after the cards are received for them to show up under my submissions.  Do card submissions show up in the same list of comic submissions?

My order was marked as delivered in my tracking system on October 17th, and was marked as received in the submissions section of my CGC account on October 29th. That being said, I made an error in my order that likely led to a longer time spent getting the order into the system. I would estimate about 10 business days from your order being delivered to CGC, and marked as such in the CGC system.

    Hello WillsTCG,

Thank you.  What day was your package signed for?  You should see it entered within 24 to 48 hours of the order being delivered to us.

    Thank you,

    Lisa

The package was marked as delivered on October 19th. However, I am aware that I mistakenly addressed my shipment to the PO Box that handles Comic submission while this is an order of trading cards. I presume that the order is just in a box somewhere that hasn't yet been opened. I just wanted to know what to expect under normal circumstances.

    Good morning,

Thanks for your message.  Due to the very high volume of mail we receive each day, it can take some time before your package is opened and entered into the system.  Right now we are finishing up the week of October 12th so if your order came in during that week or after then it will be at least a few more days until you see anything in the system.  You will receive an email once your order has been logged into the system.

    Thanks!

Alright thanks so much for your help! I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't supposed to be seeing something on my end.

    Thank you!

Hi, all of our different divisions are within the same building so it will arrive here at our office.  It just might take a bit longer to get to the correct receiving room.  If you sent it to the comics PO Box it might end up there first and have to be walked down to the trading cards receiving room once they open the package and see that it is trading cards and not comics.  But it shouldn't be a problem and will still get processed.

    Thanks!

Ok thank you so much for this information. I'm sorry for inconveniencing the staff in this way. Next time, I'll know the correct address and it shouldn't be an issue. Thanks again!

I  don't think you have to worry about CGC receiving your shipment but, these are the correct addresses for cards and comics.

    Global Locations

    United States
    Certified Guaranty Company, LLC
    P.O. Box 4738
    Sarasota, FL 34230
    United States

    CGC Trading Cards
    P.O. Box 4701
    Sarasota, FL 34230
    United States

Ok thank you. It seems that I sent my card order to the comic branch. oops.

  11. I shipped out an order of bulk cards to CGC today, and shipped my package to the address on the website, which is

    CGC
    PO Box 4738
    Sarasota FL 34230

I only later realized that I had received an email following the completion of my order, telling me that the address should have been labeled as PO Box 4701. As previously stated, I found the first adress on the shipping instructions within the website, specifically on the page called 'general instructions.' Should I be worried that my order will not reach CGC or did I do everything correctly and am in the clear?

  12. My estimate in that case, would be somewhere in the range of $40-70 USD although this is based only in speculation. I wasn't able to find any hard numbers relating to prices for this specific card, but I think that if you asked $60, you would probably get a bite pretty quickly. Considering it's a charizard card, you might even be able to get away with asking a little bit more.
