Maybe you haven't noticed if you have been posting regularly here but I have had a break for a year or so from the grading pages and these grades seem more generous than they used to be. I see that people are making similar comments elsewhere in the PGM forum.

After finishing equal last on the Round 1 grades, it seemed to me that CGC was grading at least 1 grade higher than they did when I started learning about the grading system here a few years ago.
So I added 1 level to what I thought the grade should have been and got two bullseyes.
If this is not a fluke, the good news is that my entire collection of raw books has got a huge upgrade!

A really beautiful FF 214, because of its colors, just blows the WSF 29 away (it was supposed to have been a FF cover, right?). To nitpick the WSF 29, I always wondered why the hero's arms were out of proportion and he has a lot more hair on his forearms than the Neanderthals. Once seen its hard to un-see.
Agree completely with you about FF 214.
To even more nitpick the WSF29, I don't see the central figure as "the hero" but as a ruthless invader. The others are obviously trying to defend their home, with what look like juveniles in the cave.

At one time I had about a dozen or more FF#1. I wouldn't have thought I would discard them, but after decades and many moves, they are no longer with us.

Imagine that you find a book which is your absolute Graal but the seller are totally no open to send it oversea, is there an alternative, does he exist some transit office? I could have asked to someone here on cgc but i have no enough strong relationship with an user to do it...
I use myUSA freight forwarders. They are very good with the lowest charges I have found. As a bonus for you, they can ship by DHL so you can get it delivered in a couple of days. Coincidentally, they are also based in Sarasota FL.
The books I have bought from people here (hi!) have all been sent to myUSA who then forwarded them to me.

Hello fellow Pence friends.
Wanted to share this latest mail call that will soon be off to Sarasota (they are already listed for grade thoughts in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade? - feel free to chime in).
Very nice! I hoped I had one of the best SA collections in Australia but you beat me by having Hulk1.
I would be interested how you got these. I assume you did not get them as OO because Australia got books with US prices in the '60s. (And we usually did not get the first three issues of a series).

I bought this a long time ago from @ThothAmon. This is his photo:
It has been with my daughter since then until she could bring it to me when visiting us in Australia. So it is just in my collection this week!
Glad to see it at last, and it looks better in real life. Thanks, Thoth!

However, I am still kicking myself for missing out on ToS #48. That's what I get for scheduling a doctor's appointment at 8:00 AM followed by another appointment at 11:00 AM.
Try living 10,000 miles away in a time zone with ~12 hours difference. I missed out on #40 by about 30 mins early this morning my time.

Agree with Cat. I don't buy from eBay international.
Anything I do buy in N America is sent via a trusted third party shipper, or direct if from dealers. Though two of the direct shipments from MCS just vanished somewhere over the Pacific.

We have a CGC 7.0 and CGC 7.5 TOS #52 for sale at the same time on the boards so that might be causing somewhat of a log jam.
I took one for the team and broke the logjam.

Stains on back cover
in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
Posted
On the basis of the FC, I would grade the book as a 3.5. CGC hammers the grade if there are stains even on the back cover, so could get to 3 or even 2.5 even before considering the missing stamp.
