  1. Please, only read this is if you are making the seller offers on the Bat 121 8.0

I have haven't posted on here in a while. I just wanted to say, I am really having a hard time sitting here and not punching a hole through my computer. Whoever is making the seller of the Bat 121 offers (knowing my dad is trying to settle a deal with the seller) is a sorry SON OF A B I T C H, who needs to get off the boards. I now have 0 respect for the boards, and will NEVER post another book here. I really wanted that book becuase my dad LOVES that book and LOVES WHITE pages. He trys to be nice and show you guys the book and some greedy son a gun with a golden spoon up his , screws it all up. I am done with the boards. Nice meeting all of you and God bless.

    Bryan.

You're mad because you didn't get a book for 25% of it's true market value? Get a grip. Seems like you did pretty good on the collection you posted, so don't get greedy. (and no I did not make an offer on the book)

  2. Not impressed in the least.

It wasn't posted to impress you. I know these books quite well. But whatever.

You know them well because you have four #1's? I could have bought all four #1's that came up in the past 8 weeks (9.4x2, 9.6 and 9.8) had had a better collection than you. Would that make me a Crow expert?

  3. One of the few moderns that will be worth anything in the future.

I was wondering who was bidding against the shill account that had won the Crow 1 CGC 9.8 two weeks before this sold.

Since a 9.4 sold (about a month ago) for only $40 less than this copy, the "shill" didn't do a very good job. I got a great deal.

He actually did since late last year two Crow 1 CGC 9.6s sold for $150.

I saw the two CGC 9.4 auctions that went for $140 (+) and it was junior bidders that most probably didn't know market value.

The shill also tried to bid up the Crow 1 CGC 9.8 from the same seller two weeks before, and after a few folks figured out what was going on, they either avoided bidding or retracted a $900 offer. That's why it sold for $500 (+). He learned a hard lesson as that book should have sold for $1K (+).

You still picked up a nice book.

So, according to you, a 9.8 should go for $1000+, and I paid too much ($190) for a 9.6, and the 2 9.4 @ $140 were too much because both buyers of those book had no idea what they were doing? :screwy:

  5. Hey Comicwiz,

Why do you continue to post links to your auctions in this forum?

I sent you a message days ago the last time you did this and explained the rules to you, and even gave you a link to the proper forum to post auction listings.

Worst of all, you are using code which blocks anyone else from posting a response to your posts in the thread and you admitted to me that you knew it was blocking others from posting responses.

I am not a MOD, but I am sure they are watching you now that you have pulled this stunt twice now.

    Get a life

Nice book, did you pick this up from Metropolis ? I bought a couple JLA's from them and I almost bought this GL. I wasn't sure about the white line at the

lower left corner, was it on the book or slab ? A white paged GL from this era

is tough. Congrats on the pickup !!!

Got it from Metro and I thought the price was more than fair. The white line is part of the artwork... I know because I was concerned with it as well.

  7. And it's highly unlikely that fanfourforever's scenario came to pass... I didn't post until about 30 minutes after I had "bought it now."

Huh? After you posted here, I could have emailed the seller and offered him $250 for the book. He sells to me outside of Ebay and tells you the listing was in error. Seems very likely to me.
