  1. Hey everyone,
I recently purchased a 9.8Blue Marvel Team-Up #100 from 1980, it was graded back in 2016. Upon receiving this book I saw this pretty big crease, thank goodness it's not color breaking. My plan is to submit this to Chris Claremont (next time he has a signing) for signature and keep for my PC.

So my question is, do you guys think CCS can fix something like this before I get it signed and slabbed by CGC? Will they try to get the crease out or just give it a quick press and move on to the next? Or should I find a third party presser to add a bit of humidity and then press out this crease and then send to CGC?

tl:dr - how good are CCS pressers from your experience?

    Any advice is appreciated!

    Thanks in advance,
    Kingsley

  2. Hello everyone,
Hope OP doesn't mind me asking this question on his thread. But hope I can get some people's professional opinion on this 9.8Blue that I've been thinking of sending into CGC for signing. I purchased this on eBay and upon closer inspection found two issues.
    A) Spine tick with color break and
    B) Some small color breaks on the right

    Should I
    1) Return the item to the seller saying it's defective? Or can I even do that since it is a 9.8Blue.

    2) Risk it sending into CGC for a signing, and pray it comes back as a 9.8SS? I have heard they allow for 1 crease. And I've seen a few other 9.8Blues of this on eBay

    Your help is much appreciated!!!

That really isn't that old in the grand scheme of things. Anybody pressing books worth a damn should not have an issue unless your staple is already very loose (and in that scenario, they should not press it and tell you they wont).

Yeah I agree its not super old, hah, I'm prob just overly concerned.

But good to know, CCS won't press it if they think it'll break/dmg the book! Thanks for the response and insight.

  4. I've heard of horror stories of pressing an older book that makes the staple part of the book break. Curious if anyone has had luck asking CGC to press only if they think it won't damage the book? I'm thinking about getting a 1978s (not super old but still concerned) book signed, pressed and then slabbed. Any help is appreciated! Thanks

  5. Hello friends,

Wanted to drop a note and say hello! I started collecting X-men comics when I was a kid and stopped for a while. Was super happy that the MCU came to cinema and I realized my childhood hobbies weren't all that nerdy at all!

Got lots to learn and lots to read on the forum. Kind of my first question I've been seeking the answer to is

What are some key must do's for buying from people off the non common platforms (eBay/cgc forum etc). Anyone open to sharing some horror stories of paypaling someone money and never receiving the item?

    Thanks!
