  1. My memory is starting to come back. Here's more info on them. They were made by Magnapan. You would have to hear these to understand what I'm talking about. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnepan
  2. Dalquist Screens. Don't get me wrong, these things sounded great, but I thought the Magna Planers had a big more high end and a bit sharper. I use to have a band technician come over before my parties and dial in my amps. He would also wash the chassis down to prevent any dust on the tubes making static while playing. Girls would always say, " I'm not familiar with that area you live in " . I use to tell them, " just roll the car windows down and listen for the music ". My neighbors were glad to see me leave.
  3. I've never heard those, but I used to read about them all the time. Mine were black and each one had three panels that were hinged, like closet door. You could move each panel to get the sound you wanted and they stood up by themselves. Don't think I have a pic of them around. There were no actually speakers in them as the sound came through some kind of tubing system. They sounded like someone was playing right in the room. Other guys at the time were using Dalquist Screens but I never thought they sounded as good. This was all high end nonsense that cost an arm and a leg at the time. I think the only place you could by Audio Research Amps at the time was Paul Heath in Chicago. No on else could sell them due to some licensing krap.
  4. Top to bottom. Audio Research SP - 3 pre amp and Kenwood Tuner. All the Amps were tubes Dynaco Mark 5 Mono Power Amps. There was one on each speaker. Also tubes. Power incarnate. Pioneer RT1011 -l Reel to reel. I would pre record about four hours of musice before my big monthly parties at my bachelor pad. Usually between 50 and 80 people. Lots of girls. The good old days. Not show. I had two Magna Planer sound screens. The sound came ot of air tubes. These things were about 5 feet tall and two inches thick like a dressing screen. Unbelievable high and mid range sound but you need a sub-woofer for the base.
  5. starting tomorrow i'm going to start posting non stop every three seconds until my eyes fall out.
  6. No 8 track, but I think I have some 78s around here I used to buy bulk 8-tracks for ten cents each and splice the tapes together for my reel-to-reel. I had a Pioneer RT 1011- L. I'm going to have to dig those pics out I took in my old house. Two Dynaco Mark 5 power amps, Audio Research SP - 3, Nakamichi tape deck. I also had a set of Magna Planer sound screens with sub woofers. The good old days where I could shake houses down the whole block.
  7. TAPE/DAT inputs. I may have to put it on e-bay. It has to be worth a fortune. I get a cut of that since my insults led to you digging it out. My paypal is parkistheawesomest@parkisawesome.com I also have a Yamaha turntable and a Onkyo Intergrated tuner.

  9. I haven't seen them? My newest price of modern wonder? Sansui Computerized Fully Automatic DD Turntable P-M90....I can't get a link up with the PC busted, but look it up...so cool... Ha, I have a Sansui Power Amp that I bought over twenty five years ago that I haven't taken out of the box yet. I'll get around to it someday. edit - I wonder if it still works? edit again - now I am curious, I may have to go and take it out of the box. I don't remember what it even looks like. Okay, just took it out of the box. Like brand new. My wife says I bought it in 1987. I wasn't sure about the year but I bought it at Music Craft on South Halsted in Homewood Illinois. I was replacing an Audio Research Sp 3 Pre Amp and two Dynaco Mark 5 power amps. The tension is building. Unseen since 1987.

  11. Unfortunately, you didn't make the cut. I'll start trying harder..........................................maybe. We should start an Outer Limits forum. I could provide literally thousands of opinionated posts in such a venue. I was thinking about just that if I had the time. Starting with episode number one ( The Galaxy Being ) and working our way through the whole series. Zanti Misfits, The Mice, The Invisibles, the whole nine yards.

  13. 4. If I get a better offer in a P.M. get lost?
  14. well, I did read them when they first came out many ages ago. my comment on the grading was in regard to the grade on the label was correct for the book. they were all in grade is what I meant. no defects that could not be seen from a scan.
  15. no, all were bought slabbed. I can reread my masterworks at any time.
  16. I mentioned where all of these came from when I posted my collection of #1 - #600. These lower numbers were the last five gooks I pieced together. These all came from reputable dealers who know how to grade and three were bought in hand. And speaking of Torgo.....................

+1 Worst character on the show and her acting is horrid. It reminds me of one of those wretched made for T.V. U.S.A. channel movies from years ago. I'm on the fence about it too.
