  1. This is my kind of Thread!!! My only regret is that I don't have too many books with more than 3 signatures. Anyway, keep 'em coming!

  2. Thanks guys, im glad everyone likes my little set up. Whovianone, yea those are comics in those binders. I also use boxes for older stuff, but the modern ongoings I put in the binders.

    Easyt63,

Which comics are in those binders? How do you get comics bound into binders like that? Do they take all of the issues apart and put them in a binder? ...I would really like to do that myself!

  3. I bought this book on a whim and got it signed at NYCC 2009: Wolverine#145 (Nasbisco Variant) CGC 9.8 SS Bill Sienkiewicz, Leinil Yu and Dexter Vines. Thanks to Par2ch for the silver sharpie, for teaching me how to prep my own books...and for letting me follow him around as he got the signatures for me. I learned that SS Witnesses are very quick on their feet. I could barely keep up with Dan....but it turned out very well as this book is the highest graded and has the most signatures (I believe). Thank you so much Dan. :)

    P.S. I still can't believe I prepp'ed this book myself....because I can't even keep the camera steady... :cloud9:

P.S. Moved to this thread because "Back from CGC" is more appropriate.

  5. Thanks Jimbo/PinkPanther. :) I'm actually a bit taken by Joe Sinnott's signature. It's very neat and uniformly drawn.

Interestingly enough, Sinnott's son, told me that he can't draw Dr. Doom/Galactus commissions because of the strain on his hand. With a signature like that, I think his hand is OK, right? Am I right? :baiting:...just kidding)

  6. I purchased a number of CGC graded books, totally about $4,000 from Silver Age Comics. Each purchase I made from SilverAgeComics was completely random in every sense of the word. They simply happen to have the books I was looking for. When I bought his X-men#1 at NYCC, someone pointed to Gus by name and I turned to him and said, 'Hi, I'm the guy who picked up book XXX from you two weeks ago. Thanks!!" So, thankfully, everything has worked out for me with SilverAgeComics and I have no qualms about buying from them in the future.

As a side note: I do NOT buy RAW books online for a number of reasons. So, I cannot make any claims as to how well SAComics is with RAW books. Slabbed books, I have had ZERO problems.

  7. Ok...ok...I hate to the voice of reason here...but if you're waiting 5 years for a piece of OA, you're crazy. I'll let those with insane goals slide, (like super large OA, awkward DPSes and those with lots of demands).

...if an artist has a 5 year wait list, I'll buy some other OA from this artists (rather than a personalized commission.

However, I now find myself conflicted, because I would probably wait a good while for a Dale Keown Hulk piece...

  8. 3 people's collection is worth over $1,000,000 :o

I can think of at least 5 board members with collections that are worth more than a million..

    Just 5? I can think 10 or 15...

Bangzoom (millions; in a category of its own)

    jbcomicbox

    action1kid

    MrBedrock

    detective27kid

    metropolisent

    koko1

    EsquireComics

    CentuarMan

    BillyParker

    CaptainTripps

    continue...

What are some of the books/sets they own, if they've reached a million dollars? I can't wait to hear some answers to this.......
