I wish CGC would use it to expand into action figure grading. AFA's grading doesn't make sense at least to me. It just seems like they roll a dye with 85 on every side except one that says 80. I'd like to see how CGC would handle something like that. Or maybe start grading Famous First Edition sized books.

I always thought 19 had a great cover.

I would say not to wait a year since you never know where prices are going to be in a year. If you're going purely for investment potential I would say buy the best Hulk 181 you can afford to sit on for a couple years, because you know eventually Disney will bring Wolverine into the MCU, but It may be a couple years until that happens. Once they do bring him in though I would imagine that will make that book appreciate quite well. If you're looking for something a little more secure though maybe think about New Mutants #98 since Disney just confirmed their Deadpool adaptation will be R rated, which could mean good news for that book. Ultimately though buy what would make you happiest.

Doesn't sound that cool a key to get over others.
By the way another really awesome key that I realize is picking up some ridiculous gains is Detective Comics 73. Within that price range you describe you can still get a decent one, but not for long. And it's rarer than most other books being mentionned here. Of course, I am a big fan of following one's heart so i'd only get this one if you're a big batman fan. But yeah, if I had 5K simply to go towards books, i'd get either a Turtles 1 or this Detective Book. It's rather special to me and can easily reach the realms of unobtainability for many of us due to its scarcity.
I too really like the cover of Detective Comics #73, but I think if I was going to do something like that I'd rather get a low grade World's Finest #3. Even though it has the rather boring baseball cover, and get his actual first appearance.
When is the Modern Age over?

I totally agree is seems like there's a clear distinction in eras from newsprint to glossy pages. It just doesn't make sense why the death of superman should be grouped into the same era as the action I bought off the stand last week.
