  1. I totally agree Ben! I'm SO happy that this Everett prelim cover still exists!!! If memory serves, it was found in Lloyd Jacquet's estate with the copies of Motion Picture Funnies Weekly and the pay copies, etc. Things like this are priceless to me and the fact that they still exist in someone's collection absolutely astounds me! We weren't supposed to ever SEE that cover prelim but by a stroke of incredibly good fortune it survived and has at least been reprinted once or twice for us to examine! Bill Everett is one of my very favorite comic artists and to see the level of creativity and effort he put into a cover rough really shows me why he was a master of his craft!!!
  2. I love both 3 & 4 but for a cover favorite, it's #3 for me. I'm not as keen on panel covers. I get panels inside the comic ... let the cover be a full scene in full color!
  3. That's funny! Back in the day when a bunch of us would get together and go snowmobiling, I used to get a "traveling warm-up beverage" called Sno Shoe Grog. It was a combination of Brandy and Peppermint Schnapps and it kept me warm!
  4. That is VERY interesting and something I hadn't heard!!! Thanks for that info!!!
  5. Thanks RM!!! It's one of my favorite early Spidey covers and see the differences between the American and the Mexican copies are fun for me!
  6. This is the Everett Marvel Comics #2 cover prelim I was talking about!!! SOMEONE owns this, I just don't know who!
  7. I remember seeing printed examples in a Marvel Comics index (the issue featuring Subby, I believe) by George Olshevsky of some early Everett Marvel Mystery art, I think for issue #7. I have to believe that they are still out there in private hands. That same Marvel index has the Everett color cover prelim to Marvel Comics #2 (evidently didn't know it was going to change to Marvel Mystery at the time of production). I believe THAT still has to be out there as well. Heritage has had several Subby pages from All Select #2 and a few covers, although it appears that the Schomburg Human Torch #16 cover has disappeared from their archives. These two covers are still there though, and both of them would be a welcome addition to my art collection!!! No, I don't own either of them.
  8. If you're taking requests Ricky, I'd sure like to see your copy of Mystic #3 again! The picture sidebar with the Blue Blaze at the top is super cool!!! Below is his splash page from my copy of Mystic #1
  9. Man, I would make the necessary adjustments in my collection to be able to add that copy to this one! Reuniting the pair would be sweet!!!
  10. White skin with black splotches to vest that was FORMERLY white skin with black splotches.

  12. 125 to 126 or Last original JIM issue to first Thor issue.
