  1. I can't remember but I think I may have posted this once. In my photobucket, sooooooo, ya get it again
  2. It would seem that Four Favorites 22 is one that can be found. Walclark just posted a nice copy and here is the copy I sold & then my upgrade. Cool book too
  3. VERY cool book!!! Thanks for the inside scoop
  4. 'Likely' he says , . Well, i hope one of your upcoming scans is your copy. I'd love to see it. That cover is SICK!!! Ok, my next "scan choice" will be my Super Mystery stash!!!
  5. Sharp eye, laddie! I think it's legit
  6. HA! Good luck my friend, that's gonna go for a fortune!!! I already have a copy (nothing like THAT copy) so I won't likely be going after it. Sure is pretty though!!!!!
  7. Great list Frisco! We agree on a few i see, but it's always interesting to see the one's we don't. I guess you, Gino, Robot-Man, myself, and a few others will have to let it stew a bit and see what the 'definitive' list will be, much like most of the Timely crowd can agree upon. And even there there is a little disagreement sometimes. As our acquisitions grow, we can then maybe figure out which are the hardest to come by (which one's aren't?!?!) Thanks for participating, (thumbs u Thanks Sagii I love these books and thus, I HAD to participate I actually feel that we'll wind up with 2 lists: One of books that are hard to find in nice condition, one of books that are hard to find in ANY condition. For example, I just offered up a few under copies to some pals here on the boards. The Four Favorites 22 I sold was a vg & my upgrade is around a fine. The Super Mystery vol2 #4 I sold was a g/g- where my upgrade is only a g+ to g/vg. Of course SOME books exist in nice condition due to our luck that some of them exist from pedigree collections like the Church & Larson collections. I CAN say that one book in particular that seems common in nice condition is Super Mystery vol5 #4. Metro has 3 available copies right now.
  8. Me too .... especially when they have Larson call-back numbers on them
  9. WOW BB-Gun, those are some B E A UTIES!!!! MOST of them are pretty hard to find & it would seem that there are a LOT of buyers lookin' for 'em
  10. That makes me VERY happy to hear Robot Man!!! A lot of folks are content to only look at the covers these days ......
  11. that's what I'm saying brother!! fun going through them for sure!! BTW I like your list as well (thumbs u Thanks pal Sometime when I get some spare time, I'll get some more scanned
  12. This was my 1st Fiction House book. Couldn't say no to that cover! Love the colors on the copy to the right!!! I KNOW!!! I buy them when I see them reasonably priced Thanks, that's the nicest looking copy I have of this issue
  13. You're welcome Steve!! If it makes even one person want to look inside their comics, it's worth the effort (thumbs u
  14. Happy Birthday Lamont!!!! Just for you Lamont, it's a 6 Larson salute!
  15. I've always thought that at a certain point (perhaps 1944ish), that his covers had a similar enough quality that you could interchange Cap with someone like ... say .... The Black Terror in the Nedor line and nobody would be the wiser. TREMENDOUS output by Schomburg can perhaps lead people to take him & his work for granted, which I think is a shame. Example: Wouldn't this book be worth a TON more if Cap & Bucky's images replaced that of The Black Terror & Tim? (Sorry, I know it's not a Timely)!! I know what you mean about Bucky holding Cap back at times. I've always loved the covers where Cap gets to rescue a babe!!! Too bad there aren't more of them Although not a Schomburg, still a rare Cap opportunity to "save a babe" AND a GREAT job by Syd Shores!!! Kirby's take on Cap saving a babe Even Avison got an opportunity to have Cap help a hottie (btw, this book is a 2.5 now!!!) I haven't done a photo journal check, but there can't be many more Cap-rescues-a-babe covers than the ones I've posted. Too bad really .... he's such a natural ....
  16. If memory serves, my count was that there are 82 Ace super-hero books. You'd think it'd be easier to narrow it down to 10 favorites, but it wasn't
  17. Ok, here's a quick list of my 10 favorite Ace super-hero covers. I didn't consult anyone else's list, just about 10 minutes with the photo journal. In alphanumerical order: Banner 4 Four Favorites 7, 10 Lightning vol2 #3 Our Flag 5 Super Mystery 3, vol2 #1, vol3 #2, vol3 #4 Sure-Fire 2
  18. Amazing copies Jon .... even more so because they're raw & examinable
  19. I recently picked up a decent but cover detached copy of Zoot 12 which I will now share
