  1. It's an additional month.

So if someone got a strike today - 07/11/14, they wouldn't be able to normally participate until 08/11/14 (even though they could still participate via the 48 hour rule).

Now, with one strike, they couldn't participate until 08/11/14 - AT ALL.

    With two strikes, 10/11/14.

OK - Thanks for the clarification...In that case, ^^

  2. :news::news::news::news::news::news::news::news::news::news:

To commemorate solarcadet's ban today, we're going to implement a new Stacked Strike Rule.

This is not retroactive. It will go into affect after Chip's current offer.

    Within the last 12 months:

    • Strike 1 - one month suspension
    • Strike 2 - three month suspension
    • Strike 3 - permanent ban

    :news::news::news::news::news::news::news::news::news::news:

I love this idea. Question though....with the first strike, that isn't really much of a punishment. To get a strike it is assumed you have to have taken something recently. With the 30 day rule, having a 30 day suspension is like a pitcher in MLB getting a 3 game suspension when they don't pitch but every 5 or 6 days anyway. I mean, I guess that would prevent them from getting RAK's, and that would certainly stink, but as for the main offers It isn't much of a punishment. Just my $.02!

Nice work on the goblin. You will do it much more justice than I ever could. It's all yours. Remember, the statue and the books go together! PM me your address!!

  4. Since it is so addictive, here is another just because random goodwill offering. Nothing terribly exciting or fancy, but The Captain and Iron Man are my 2 favorite superheroes! Enjoy some random Iron Man books and this Captain America Model! Free shipping to a good home in the USA!! Enjoy!

Is the model unpainted build your own or is it the prepaint snap type?

It is the unpainted build your own. I am not a very steady hand so my attempt to paint it would look atrocious! Better for someone to have it that can do some good with it!

  6. It'd be awesome if every boardie that gets hims takes him to an iconic landmark in that city and photographs Kraven chilling there and then posts it to the thread that Barth is gonna create. For example, I would take him to Coney Island to the Wonder Wheel or Nathan's.

    +1

I know where he goes is random, but if he comes my way I will take him to the battlefield at Gettysburg and take pictures with him at several historical landmarks!!

  7. Standard coupon submission +1 (5 books total - I submitted all 5 under 1 invoice, but CGC separated them into 2 invoices when they received them - 1 invoice for the 4 books with the coupons and a separate invoice for the 1 book without).

    Received 6/12

    Verified 6/13

Scheduled for Grading (single book) 6/27

    Graded (Single Book) 6/30

Scheduled for Grading - Col Soc 4 books - 6/30

    Graded - Col Soc 4 Books - 7/2

    Shipped/Safe - (all 5 books in 1 shipment) - 7/3

In and out in 14 business days if you don't count Wizard World Philly in the days, 16 business days if you do.

So, another update here. Back on 7/2 I called CGC to make sure both of my invoices were shipped together, and they said they were already set to go out that way and was already taken care of. I just got off the phone with CGC again today - I called to get tracking numbers for these invoices both which showed shipped/safe on 7/3 - She proceeds to tell me they in fact havent shipped yet, and the group of 4 books are still waiting to be encapsulated. Yet, the grades have already been posted under the invoice #'s on the web site (shrug) ANyone ever have this happen or know what might be going on? She seemed as confused as I was about it on the phone!

  8. Screw it. I guess I'll be the guinea pig for all of it in this thread.

Big daddy, sorry, but your offers have continually stalled the PIF, so I don't think this is shaping up to be any different.

    I use my veto.

My offer is back up now. It's not changing. Either somebody else can claim, Hokie can veto, or it can expire. I'm fine with any of those choices at this point.

    (thumbs u

Hey look, the rule worked....for now

  9. Who's going to actually take that offer?

    a friend will.

They can act indignant all they want. We know who the bottom feeders are and how they operate. These same bottom feeders abandoned the PIF thread because all they had left participating were each other. So, now they are here to ruin another great idea. Ask "Big Daddy" how he left his latest offer in the PIF thread expire after 4 days.

I'm with ya youmechooz. I'll take a strike too if it helps expose and get rid of the scammers.

I am not saying to not hold the chronic offenders accountable, but Harvey's rules apply strikes to those that get their offers vetoed. Maybe it should be 2 strikes and you are out instead of 3....if someone will do it twice after a warning then my guess is you are just letting them do it a 3rd time, since they probably would.

Why even give 2 strikes. Either you 'get it' or you don't.

A friend ;) ;) ;) takes this offer and then we're down to an offer of a pack of X-Men trading cards.

You may have a point hm The main thing that cant happen is that everyone thinks that each subsequent offer has to be equal or better in value to the one before. I think it is unrealistic to expect that - eventually someone is going to have to offer up an Action #1 if that were the case (someone mentioned this idea earlier - sorry I cant give credit).

  10. Who's going to actually take that offer?

    a friend will.

    hm Fool me once...

Yeah that's kinda where I was trying to go with that!!

  12. Just so we are clear,

the value of that SW pack is

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Marvel-Comics-STAR-WARS-1-2-3-special-packaging-still-sealed-35-cent-issues-/181426886153?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item2a3de29609

    so maybe $20

plus the rest of the poly bagged 90's books gives a grand total of $22

so, quick and probably incorrect math gives us

    cahokie offers $150+ at least

next dude offers $75 or something

    last dude $22 or something.

ill probably get in trouble or something and people getting upset "its about the thought" or something.

So why not let the rules work for us. If CAHokie was OK with the next guys offer, then why should anyone else be upset. Same thing with the last offerer...if he isn't bothered, why should anyone else care? If you think this thread is going to keep throwing $150+ slabs or trades around every time, and that disappoints you, then maybe this isn't the thread for you.

then it should combine with the PIF thread. Thats what happened with that thread.

You're right about what happened to that thread.....but it is the focus on value that the people in that thread had that turned it that way, and unfortunately it is happening here too. Maybe there is no way to prevent it...I certainly don't know the answer. Ill defer to wiser folks than me to figure that out.
