  1. Another great deal with Barton, as usual.
  2. The book has no stress and sharp corners. There is a small almost unnoticeable crack to the ink on the tip of one corner. From the front cover it's visually a solid 9.4/9.6. The back cover has a little creamyness at the corners and possibly even a little foxing. They hammered the grade because of it. The book was slabbed before I got it signed and it got the same grade from the CGC both times. Heartbreaking, but far and away the nicest 7.0 that will ever be on the census. I'll never sell it anyway, so the grade really doesn't matter much to me. Yeppers. Foxing and heavy tanning like that will get hammered everytime. That's too bad. The front cover QP is stellar.
  3. Dice, why did that book get a 7.0? I've seen 9.0s that look much worse. Congrats on your grail!
  4. should only be used if I were to get a 100 pager that you actually need.
  5. Just got a nice lone highest graded 9.8 W ToD from Mark. Great guy to deal with, thanks!
  6. I missed this when you first posted this. Nice work, Wes! It's definitely not easy to find these books in high grade. I'm curious, how long did it take you to complete the run? Thanks, B. It took just about two years. I could have shortened that by quite a bit, but the last two books I needed, I didn't want to pay asking price for from the one place they were available in 9.6 (available since I started the collection, so nobody else seems to want to pay that either.)
  7. Got this yesterday from Blazing Bob. The colors on this one are incredibly bold for a 55 year old book.
  8. Just got these stinkers back yesterday.
  9. I have finally completed the Vault of Evil run with the ugliest CGC 9.6 on the planet (issue #11). A special thanks to Doc Joe, joeypost, GhostTown, and sterlingcomics for helping me complete it in such high grades. It has 20 highest graded and 7 lone highest graded.
  10. Should be easy enough to compare with the scans from Heritage. The scan was coveniently taken down as soon as I made my order and before I even got the book. I've emailed them about this 2 weeks ago and this was all they would say about it. It's not so much the money, it's just that this was a pedigree'd book and it can never be replaced. I'm just surprised they never bothered to even casually look it over the before they sent it to me. So much for "verifying that it's the same item" that that was on the site. Do they usually take scans down? I tseems like they keep them up for ever for books I look at. That seems odd to me.
  11. Here's my membership key. I'm sure I will be excommunicated at a later date.
  12. Are those megladon teeth? Although most of them I've seen are black.
  13. :roflmao:you don't collect either one of those!
  14. Sent 4 Triple A outfielders to Barton, for a 21 year old All Star and an undisclosed amount of cash. Always a gentleman to deal with. (thumbs u
  15. Tied with one other for highest graded. Highest graded. Only graded.
  16. All-American Comics #61 has the "Classic Cover" designation from CGC, but not from OSPG.
  17. Just received the 4 books I purchased from Dale's two recent sales threads- shipped quickly and safely. They look even better in hand! Thanks, Dale! (thumbs u
  18. This is a cool thread. I don't know if I'm rooting for someone to find one, or for it to stay unfound.
