  1. Issue 27- This is the second remaining issue with a single CGC 9.8. This is also an issue I would have had zero chance to acquire in 9.8 without these boards. When this was graded, I was constantly following the census to see if books I needed were recently graded. Then I'd keep an eye on ebay and the boards, as well as dealer sites and auction houses to see if it would show up. This one never did. I also searched the Registry. I finally found it there. That's when I reached out to @chaddesden33 He had it in his ToD set, so I figured the chances weren't good of him parting with it. However, we were able to make a trade and cash deal for it. I believe I had to get a Thor with the first Ego maybe for him? Along with some cash. I remember him being very worried when tracking seemed to stop when it reached the US. It was stuck somewhere for a while, but it arrived safely. I know he doesn't post much, so I hope he doesn't mind me giving him props here.
  2. Issues 31, 30, 29, and 28 Poor Taj. His son was a vampire.
  3. Issues 35, 34, 33, 32. 35 and 32 were no picnic getting either. Not as bad as 36, but it did take me longer to finally get a 32.
  4. Issue 36.Still is the hardest issue to get in 9.6 or 9.8. There are still only two 9.8s out there. I've never graded one higher than 9.4, and that was just one copy. This is where @Ghostzapper makes his first appearance. This is a Susha News copy. I'm pretty sure it was a CPR, but I have no idea where he found it. He reached out to me and we made a deal. This isn't his last appearance.
  5. Issues 40, 39, 38, 37. Some of these issues were also very tough to get. I believe 40 was a lone 9.8 for quite a while. Dracula dies in 39. No, I'm serious! Dr. Sun was actually a pretty good antagonist. If you're the antagonist of the antagonist, what does that make the original antagonist?
  6. Issue 41. This is where @Kramerica makes his appearance. He graded this himself and sold it to me after some negotiating. To this day, it remains the only CGC 9.8 copy. Without the boards, I never would have been able to interact with him.
  7. Issues 43, and 42 @SharpComics.com found me two 9.8s of the Wrightson covered 43. I love Blade's face on 42.
  8. Issue 44. Probably my favorite story in the run. It crosses over to Doctor Strange #14. I was actually hoping Avengers Endgame would use the "death" of Doctor Strange like it was used here.
  9. Issues 46 and 45 I like the faceless fiend story. He's just some normal schmuck that gets disfigured. Blade vs. King is good too.
  10. Issue 50. I was lucky enough to find and grade 2 9,8s of The Silver Surfer issue. As far as the read goes, there are better in my opinion.
  11. Issues 60 and 59. @joeypost again helped with issue 59. I went to the first C2E2, and the raw 59 was the only raw book I bought. I think it was $3. At the time, it was the second 9.8 graded. I lost more at the SharpComics poker game than I spent at the show.
  12. Issue 61. Here's where @joeypost makes his first appearance. He pressed this one for me and it was the first 9.8 graded.
  13. Issues 65, 64, 63, and 62. @greggy sold me issue 63 as well in a VCC. It led to me actually meeting him for the first time... much to his chagrin.
  14. Issue #66. Here is where @greggy makes his second appearance. He graded this and it was the 2nd 9.8 graded. A very tough issue.
  15. Issue 70. The last issue. The series ended a bit unexpectedly, but it wasn't a bad finish. I just wish Janus could have played a roll in the final act. Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure I got this from @Dale Roberts
  16. Giant Size 2 and.1. Issue one has the first comic appearance of Lilith, and is the highlight of the GS issues. By the way, don't let anyone tell you that you can't fit a GS issue into a Hot Flips CGC bag... you can. I don't suggest trying to remove it though.
  17. Giant Size 3. Not many high grade issues of this one out there. Here's where @greggy makes his first appearance for getting me this one.
  18. Giant Size 5 and 4. Issue 5 has the first work for Byrne at Marvel. Aside from that, GS 2-5 are not the pinnacle of the run.
  19. It took almost 12 years, but I have finally killed Dracula. The Tomb of Dracula, that is. I just received the last piece of my CGC 9.8 run. All issues from 1-70 and all 5 Giant -Size issues are in the set. I know a Bronze series doesn't seem like it would be that hard to complete. However, the run had 7 issues, I believe, with no 9.8 copies when I started. In fact, there are still two issues with a lone CGC 9.8 out there. (More on those later.) After completing this, I have to say there is no way I could have done it without these boards. It's possible that it couldn't have been done for many more years. Anyway, many boardies helped me along the way. I want to thank them here. @joeypost pressed a few books for me that ended up being the first or second 9.8 graded. Greggy sold me the first two books I entered into the set, and several after that. SharpComics found several raw 9.8 candidates for me. KingofRulers, ghostzapper, and Kramerica also sold me books that were either the first, second or third graded copies of books. Lastly, a fine English gentleman worked a cash and trade deal with me for a copy that is still one of the two issues with only one CGC 9.8. I will tag these guys as I post the books here. I hope I didn't forget anyone that I got a book from through the boards. Please let me know if I left you out. I know there have been a few other ToD threads over the years, but feel free to post your favorite issues and storylines as well.
  20. Hi Mollie, Here is what is becoming my annual request to look at one book- Superboy 68. It has the first appearance of Bizarro and doesn't have a graded copy above 9.0. Here are some breakdowns of recent sales. Fortunately for this book, it does seem to sell on a more consistent basis. These are all CGC Blue Labels. Most of these are off by 10x or more. Grade Current Value Recent Sales (Last Sale) 9.0 800 $3107 May 2008 (this is really the only very old data point) 8.0 340 $6600 May 2019 7.5 200 $4605 June 2019 7.0 170 $3120 November 2018 6.5 120 $2299 May 2019 6.0 110 $1380 May 2019 5.5 100 $1080 May 2019 5.0 80 $1000 June 2019 4.5 65 $504 April 2019 4.0 60 $662 January 2019 3.5 50 $525 March 2019 3.0 40 $480 December 2018 2.5 35 $425 May 2019 2.0 25 $260 April 2019 1.8 20 $280 February 2019 1.5 20 $220 August 2018 1.0 20 $175 August 2017 .5 15 $104 August 2018 (Incomplete) Thanks for your consideration, Mollie!
