Quick background, & thanks for the read: Recently found childhood Pokedex Card Binder withh ALL of the goodies from the baseset, trainer cards, etc. Very well kept and all cards sealed in soft sleeve within heavy binder sleeve.
Without a single doubt in my mind, I went to CGC (based on rec from a family friend whom I've gone card trading events with since I was a kid.)
I wanted to get the more rarer of cards submitted for grading first, ensuring it's in the best hands possible. Signed up and submitted a lightly played Base Set Charizard Holo. Excited and new to CGC's website and forums, checked my submission and its grading... A FIVE. Being realistic with the play level of card, I would have hoped to see a 7. I wildly misjudged the cards value on the "expected value" part of submission form, but hell, its MY FIRST TIME
Really hoping I didn't make a mistake becoming a CGC member, and the wild growth you're going through at the moment. I can't imagine how many of these instances/ submissions y'all go through.
I think many of us send in our first cards with unrealistic expectations. I agree with the other comments though that the amount of whitening was probably your issue. Even if the front was emaculate, that whitening on the back would drop it down pretty hard.

Hey I have the whole celebration set and was wondering what would be the best options on grading. Like which options should I go with. Thanks
Agree with HomeGrownPoke1 that bulk would be the best route. Honestly though I would only grade the valuable ones yourself and just buy already graded versions of the cheap ones. You can probably pick many of them up already graded on ebay for less than the price of grading.

Bulk order 50 cards no subgrades
Received 3/7
Grading/encapsulation 3/28
Shipped 4/4!

62 Card Bulk received 9/14/21, moved to grading on January 12 2022, moved to quality control/finalization yesterday 3/1/22, then moved to grading/finalization, then moved to shipped, then moved back to grading/finalization all in the same day so no telling where it's at. If I click on the hyperlinked words grading/finalization it takes me to a fedex tracking number but all it says is that the tracking information was sent to fedex yesterday. Has anyone else experienced this?
Got a response from customer service, it was shipped there was just a glitch in the system.

It's all about the terms of use man, just as he said priority boxes remain the property of the post office. Reusing one that has already been shipped priority for another service might be a Grey area but taking a new priority box and using to ship something not usps priority is illegal. The can and do arrest people for it.

Has anyone sent in a bulk submission recently? I just stuck mine in the mail today. I expect it to take 8 months to a year to be graded but was curious how long they are taking to check in bulk orders currently.

I'm pretty sure they have said that Yugioh! is the next tcg they are going to start grading. I don't think they have set a date yet though.

When you say a submission delivered to our facility today, do you mean physically arriving at the facility or when you actually check it in and schedule it for grading?
"Turnaround times reflect the estimated number of working days to complete a submission delivered to our facility today. Turnaround times are estimates only and are NOT guaranteed. Due to high submission volumes, there may be a delay in opening incoming packages. Certain grading tiers are currently experiencing significant delays."

I've experienced this before. I had one go from shipped back to grading. It was just an error, I contacted customer service and they fixed it.
