I would also add issue 6 in the mix as it is considered as the first cameo appearance of Knull. While Venom #3 from the Cates run is the bigger issue since its his first appearance, I also see this issue as being a key if Knull ever comes to the MCU which I can see happening in 10 years.

I agree. I think Knull coming to the MCU or to the Sony Spider-universe is a big possibility in the next 5 to 10 years.

  2. Hi everyone,

I'm reading the collected trade edition of Thor: God of Thunder #s 1 to 5 (Gorr the God Butcher story-line), but am curious about some of the key issue designation in this series:

-Has the market settled on issue #4 as Gorr's second appearance even though Gorr also had a small cameo appearance in #3?
-Is issue #5 considered Gorr's origin even though there is hardly any reference to Gorr's origin story? I think #5 might have Gorr mentioning that he originated from a forgotten world but I didn't see any other origin details in it. I see lots of ebay listings claiming that #5 as the Origin of Gorr issue so it makes me wonder.
-Issue #6 is Gorr's detailed origin story and #5 seems to be a very brief origin of Gorr?
-Issue #25 is the first appearance of Jane Foster as Thor in the 616 Marvel Universe? This issue is not part of the Gorr God Butcher story arc but I'm intrigued if this will emerge as a prominent key issue in the future.

P.S. Yes, I know that the big keys in this run are issue #2 (first Gorr) and #6 (first cameo appearance of Knull), but am curious about the investing potential of more minor keys like #5 and #25.

BTW, I'm loving the Esad Ribic art work, it's fantastic! What a fantastic collaboration between Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic. I will be reading #s 6 to 11 (God Bomb story arc) next.

Thanks for any info about the above issues.

  3. Hi everyone,

This Marvel Premiere #1 is definitely a low-grade comic, but I'd like to know How Low? There are 2 holes punched through the back cover and through the last 16 to 18 pages in the book. The holes get smaller near the middle pages as they couldn't completely punch through pages 12 through 14.  Cover and pages are attached to both staples, and no pages are missing. Thanks for your opinions!

  4. Hi everyone, attached are photos of Captain Marvel #27 comic. There is a small piece missing in lower left corner of the front and back cover, and also small piece missing in lower left corner of the first few story pages as shown in the photos. Otherwise comic book is complete, no missing pages, and pages are attached to the cover at both staples. Thank you for your grading opinions and all the best.

  5. Thanks for your grading opinions everyone. I did some research and it looks like water stain will limit a book's grade to 4.0 max. So it's a 3.5 and not a 4.0 because of the additional defects of the small piece missing from page 11 and the stains on the back cover?

  6. Hi folks,

I would love to hear your grade opinions for this Amazing Spider-Man #149. Comic book has all the pages, and all pages and cover are attached at both staples. Please note the flaws, including water stain (is a wavy area) in the top left corner of front cover, small piece missing from edge of page 11 (right side edge), and there are small dark stains (possibly water stains?) on right side of back cover of #149 (fourth photo). The water stains are only on the front cover and back cover and not in the inside pages.

    Thanks for your opinions!

  7. Hi folks, I found another copy of Thor #126 in one of my comic book stashes. Cover and pages are all attached to both staples, all pages are there, no missing pieces from inside pages. There is just a small rectangular piece missing (3/8 inch wide and 6/8 inch long) on the back cover, at the spine area (see the last 2 photos). Thanks for all your grading opinions!

  8. Update for March 30, 2021: I've retaken the photos under better lighting conditions and posted them (see above). Last 2 photos show the problem area in  lower left corner of back cover. I hope it helps with your grading opinions.

Hi Glassman10, there are no detached pages. All the pages are complete and are attached to the cover snugly, just the problem area in the lower left corner of back cover.

  9. Hi folks,

I recently bought this Thor #126 comic. It looks like a nice solid low grade book with tight staples and all pages complete, but there is a small piece missing from the back cover's lower left corner. The missing piece is about 3/8 inch high and 5/8 inch wide, so I'm wondering how much this missing piece will reduce the grade. Thanks for your opinions and have a great day!
