So if the assumption is a 9.8 would go for $500, what would a 9.6 example sell for?
The only thing that link shows is that a 9.6 isn't worth $250
Someone will pay it sooner or later or somewhere near that price....I'd pay $300 to $400 for a 9.8
daken2626 (added 10/14/11) Shouldn't you pay off what you owe first? You are on the porbatian list for a reason.
It's all a misunderstanding.
He has these two roommates, Janet and Chrissy. They had their rent money all ready to pay to Mr Roper when it goes missing. Believing a burglar has stolen their rent money, they frantically try to avoid Mr. Roper until they can replace it. After Daken and Janet find their apartment door unlocked and the cash missing, Chrissy arrives and insists that she left the envelope containing the rent money on a shelf. Daken calls the police. While the three roommates worry about trying to get a loan, Mrs. Roper convinces her husband to invite them out to dinner. While at dinner, Daken decides to pay Mr. Roper the rent money instead of using it to purchase the two books he posted on.
It wasn't until a couple of months later that Mr. Roper confesses that he he was in the apartment earlier fixing a leak in the kitchen and saw the rent money on the shelf. So, to save everyone a little trouble, he went ahead and picked it up. Unfortunately for Daken, he had already been added to the Probation List by the time Mr. Roper confessed.
I bet all that gave you an and possibly got you off....good for you (thumbs u

You're all a bunch of troublemakers. The fact that he isn't responsible enough to take care of a $50 transaction has no bearing on how responsible he would be to buy a rare $2000 modern comic.
right........
Do you feel I'm being disingenuous about something?
no not at all kind sir...good luck on your search

Looks like you're on the probation list because you didn't pay for two books you bought for a total price of $55. That doesn't instill a lot of confidence in the sellers here that you would follow through and pay for any hypothetical Wolverine 35 9.8, a book that would command significantly more money.
there are issues that came up with that sale that I will not discuss here...also I won't be goaded into a war or words...I could care less if anyone sold me anything on here for the rest of my life thanks...also thanks for your unwanted opinion
-
I doubt they would sell it to you anyway until you get off the probation list. Especially with other members in good standing wanting to buy.I hope someone finds one soon Ive already went through and acquired 50 copies im losing hopemoney talks...it does not matter what you think or what anyone else thinks...also your opinion is not needed
If someone will sell to you while on the probation list purely because you wave money under their nose, we have another problem.
hmmm...not really no

Found a very nice copy this weekend but it had the tears. They were not as bad as some I've seen, but they were still there.
that sucks good luck though

Nope, just checked. My OO newsstand copy has two small scuffs in the same area.
And my Italian version is only a 9.6, due to a slightly blunted LRHC.
WOWZERS!!!!

This is interesting. Could the entire print run have these defects? Sounds like it
Negative.
whoa...you going to submit that for grading or would you be willing to sell it to me raw?
-
Yep; that's the impossible issue.
Sheet! . . . You're gonna make me pull down that box of Wolvies from the attic!
DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Picked up a small pile of this number from an old card dealer that lets
me poke thru his backstock when I've got some extra cash, and liquor,
mostly liquor, and all 9 copies he had were boogered up.
dang....sorry to hear that better luck next time
-
yeah no luck yet....I'm getting a few in the mail next week we'll see
-
hey guys...Christmas is coming soon...I know what I would like, a Wolverine 35 in 9.8 condition...hows everyone doing with their searches?
-
yeah I'd say a 9.6 but I hope its a 9.8 good luck!
-
okay....so.....hows everyone doing on this?

Either he realizes this would be a huge slabbing win (and a nice chunk of coin), or he removed the book from the bag and said, "SHYTE! So much for $500."
too true....

I just went through mine and I found one with out any bindery tears or defects like the ones shown in the pictures in this thread. It's pretty clean. But it does have one small crease on it. The crease is close to the spine by the #35. The crease doesn't break color at all. Maybe I should send this one in just to see what happens.
I'm headed out the door right now. I'll be back in few hours. I'll scan it and post the scans as soon as I get home.
AWESOME!!!!
