    how do you guys determine "first appearances?" like in the case of Illyana Rasputin / Magik? Illyana's first appearance is in Giant Size Xmen #1, but her first appearance as Magik is what is confusing by the labels on the graded books. CGC lists it as New Mutants #14 which was printed on 04/1984. she also appears as Magik in Magik (Illyana and Storm Limited Series) Vol 1 1 which was released 12/1983, but it isn't posted on the label. I was just wondering what references you guys use? Thanks
