Another interesting thing about this pulp is that it is mostly illustrations inside. Very cool!

Just picked up some Fiction House for myself today......not nearly as sweet as some of the recent posts but I averaged $27-28 a piece so I am happy!

Lucked into these today.....

Went to the bank for a little refinancing information and after we were done my wife got me to stop at the antique mall across the street. In one of the class cases was a stack of magazines and on top was a "Creepy" for $8. I asked to see the stack and every comic mag in the stack was $8 each. Some more Creepy, Eerie, Devilina #1 and these six that I purchased......

I recently got back a GTOL #3. CGC graded it a 7.5 with WHITE PAGES!!!. Census highest graded copy.

Yes, I may consider selling it(smile).

I've got this and have just leafed through it (it's GREAT!!!) and it refreshed my memory... I did read somewhere about the origin of it's contents, but I can't recall where. I'll look into it. Now I want to know too...

It's a hard to find item...

Yes it is.....but where the stories originally came from are even tougher for me to find (mostly because I am not sure what to look for).......so if anyone has information to share it would really be appreciated!

Here are a couple scans of my GTOL #2 that just came back from CGC......

I thought it would come back a 9.2/9.4 but I guess a 9.0 ain't bad......

Marvel Comics one-shot magazine "Pussycat" #1 was a compilation of short comics from various men's magazines.....anyone know if there is a list of where the original stories came from or if there are other "Pussycat" adventures not published in the Marvel comic one-shot but are still to be found in the orginal men's mags?

As far as the interior. Text and illustrations only. Not in comic form. It does not say who the artist is/are like the Gothic Romance mag from Atlas/Seaboard does.

 

One of these days I am going to send in my GTOL #1 & 2 to CGC. I am pretty good at grading (after over 30 years messing with comics I should be) and I think both will be at least 9.0 (probably higher). Wish I still had my original copy of Gothic Romances. Sold it for $250 raw around 4 years ago. (It was virtually perfect a 9.6 minimum). I still have a lower grade copy but oh the money that sweet copy would bring now!

 

Well I sent them in and just Graded from CGC......

 

Gothic Tales of Love #1 at 9.6

 

Gothic Tales of Love #2 at 9.0

 

Gothic Tales of Love #3 at 4.5

 

Gothic Romances #1 at 6.5

 

I probably wouldn't have even sent in the #3 but no copies have been graded yet so I wanted to be the only one and I got the Gothic Romances #1 graded just to see what it would get. (my brother just got his graded and it came back a 9.2)

 

Hopefully they will be here by the end of the week and I can post a scan or too!

I will probably list my brothers Gothic Romances on ebay here in the next week or so.

 

If I do list any of my mags it probably won't be until the fall when ebay seems to take an upswing from the summer blahs (although if the books are rare enough I guess it probably doesn't matter what time of the year you list)
