    Amazing Spider-Man 134

2nd appearance of the Punisher, 1st appearance of Tarantula, complete with MVS

Very high grade, 9.4, maybe 9.6/9.8 with a press. slight staple stress at top staple, small handling crease near the 'R' in Spider-Man in the black banded logo on the top left of the book. Small stressed area back cover top right, slightly blunted top left back cover corner, small non-color breaking stresses to bottom of back cover. The best copy of this book I have owned.

20% discount does not apply on this book

graded 9.2 recently sold for $600

    $450

    I’ll take it @ 50% off!

  2. Question for all you ASM collectors:  How many of you all consider the annuals an integral or important part of your collections?  I’m just a few issues away from completing my 50 to current issue run and (except for getting an issue #16 at some point) I think I am going to stop there.  I’ve always been pretty ambivalent about the annuals and only have a handful of the ones that came out in the 80’s and 90’s.  There is still though, a tiny little nagging voice in the back of my head, that chimes in on occasion to suggest to me that my run is not a complete run without the annuals.  Most of the time I dismiss it but sometimes it’s harder and I actually start looking at listings and such.  Out of curiosity, who collects the annuals here, and who doesn’t?

  3. I feel pretty confident in saying this collection is easily worth 10k to 20k.  Lot of keys in there!  Just glancing at the apparent conditions of 50, 101, 121, 129 that’s probably 3 or 4k right there.  Some big books in the 80’s too.  238, 252, 300.  If those books are in really great shape they could be worth a bunch (particularly 300).  I’d definitely have to open up a few of those and see what shape they are in!  Nice collection, thanks Dad!!

Curious..what will a press accomplish? Cleaning will help BC.

    9.2..9.4 after C

Not sure pressing will help much if any but Avery does both for one price so hoping it helps a little.  First batch of books I’ve ever sent for c&p or grading so all part of the learning curve for me.

Agreed.  It might be worth slabbing, depending on your initial investment.  Personally, I would try and find a better copy...unless you got this one at a steal.

    Welcome to the boards!!! (thumbsu

Thanks and sorry for the double post, still figuring out the mechanics of this forum.  Upgrading to a nicer copy is definitely my plan so trying to ensure max return when I sell this copy.

  7. Hi all, new to the boards and considering having my copy of ASM 129 graded but not sure how it might fare.  Obviously the book has some major flaws most notably the MVS being removed and the two puncture holes (staple holes?) that penetrate the whole book.  Anyway, would appreciate your thoughts on this one.  Thanks in advance!

p.s.  would getting it cleaned and pressed help very much?
