Namor The Submariner.. was a GIANT in the 1940's!

King Sized Joker and Kaiju sized Captain Midnight -
Hi - oh yes Whiz #1 is very valuable - I love Captain Marvel - Shazam. Wished I owned this book! So, "Poor Man's" version of whatever is just a figure of speech / nomenclature to describe a lower priced alternative to a high priced item. These other books... Action Comic #33 and Superman #19, and Whiz #1 are similar in visual characteristics to Action Comics #1 but, more reasonable priced alternatives to the very high price of Action Comics #1.

He's Godzilla sized on that cover! -
So apparently, Namor was a GIANT in his early appearances. Truly King Kong-sized, and at times.. rivaling the size of an aircraft carrier! Will Marvel once again supersize Namor to battle the likes of Galactus? We will wait to see..

ahhh.. sure.

Anyway.. there are some striking resemblances between these early Superman covers.. they are clearly inspired by Action Comics #1. Just 100x more affordable.

A meltdown over this. Seriously?

I'm thinking Yes.

Two early Superman covers.. no where near the market value of Action Comics #1.. but still valuable and worthy early Superman appearances! Might they be considered to be "The "Poor Man's Action Comics #1" ?? (Note: "Poor Man's ____" is just a figure of speech. It is an expression that reference a more cost effective alternative to a high priced item.)

Nice! Yep Franco's car is green too - a real Superman!
-
Yes! It definitely does appear to have similar traits! I bet the same cover artist. Cool!
