I know this is early, but is anyone going to Wizard World Texas?

I was in Houston a couple of years ago and had a real good time.

 

Great food at Papa Sitos? with plenty of Coronas overflowing. I would go if I could just to look at all the pretty ladies walking around :banana:

I'm planning on going. I'll be driving up early Sat from Austin and coming back

that evening. IMO it's a show that you can do in one afternoon.

 

BTW, the drive up on IH35 is fantastic ... curving mountain roads,

beautiful vistas, incredible tunnels through the mountains ... the drive alone is

worth it. Not.

Depends on your criteria, I guess. Is it comparable to San Diego/New York?

Of course not. But it's a decent show, and about the only show going in this

part of the world.

No offense to anyone going there or Texans, this is what I heard from various comic collectors.

 

I wouldn't say it sucks ('cus I've been to some really bad cons) but it's not top-tier. Think of all of the bad thing about and WW show (porn stars, extremely loud music, stupid crowds), combine that with the same-ole-same-ole guests and a low high-end dealer turnout and you have WW-Tx.

I was really planning on forsaking the National and going to Texas, simply because I hate going to NYC in November. The Penn Plaza is a dump and so is the Penn hotel. However, Carbo talked me into it with promise of a good spot and a little bit of a discount on tables and a cheap room.

 

Any other time I would love to go to Dallas instead of NYC, especially in November. Best steaks in the world are in Texas.
