Jack and Roz Kirby Appearance at Party, 1992

Thought I would post a few pictures from my surprise 40th birthday party thrown by my wife. It had a comics theme, so the attendees wore comics costumes. The big thrill for me was that Jack and Roz showed up. Their close friend Mike Thibodeaux drove them to the party site. One of the best experiences in my life. Hope the Photobucket photos show up, I'm not good at this yet!

We used to visit Jack and Roz at their home from time to time. Nicest couple in the world. Really warm and down to earth.

Actually, I bought a Thor #161 page and a Strange Adventures #6 page from them, back in the day. Besides who the Kirbys were as people, the highlight for me was sitting at the drawing board that he had used for 50 years, in his studio. To think what had been created on that board over the years was awe-inspiring for me.
