I did get this...I wanted a representative piece of Romita Jr. from this time period.

I know it's not for everyone, but I like it and compared to alot of his work this was a great deal. Al WIlliamson inked it, and Typhoid Mary is standing 17 inches high.

Thanks!

When you coming back for lunch? (shrug)

hm Probably in a few weeks. I've got a few books to send in, and might have a couple more by then. I'll definitely give you a call ahead of time to set something up. At the very least will you be going to the Tampa show again, on Nov. 11th?

I have a love/hate relationship with Rom Jr.'s art during this period. My first impression is always that he is aping Sienkiewicz badly. That said it is different than most of the comic art that was being produced during the era. I seriously considered a piece from his X-Men run that uses the same style.

Nice DPS though (thumbs u

Sorry Steve; I make a point of getting back and thought I had. I think this PM vs. Email thing is throwing my 20th century brain...

... anyway, yes, price a bit high for me and interest waned. Very nice piece though!! Hope all is well on the home front. Dan

Woops! Guess that Wasn't a PM...

Funny though, I was just talking about this the other day with a fellow collector... whose collection would you trade for? I basically decided (price not being an issue) that I like my own. Hand picked over the course of many years, there's a lotta nostalgia there... The downside is (not really a downside) I met all my collecting goals so don't really have the 'drive' I used to.

p.s. family is doing great... boys keep growing despite my best efforts...

Yeah, I am really digging the Painted stuff more and more these days. I am about to re-focus my collection for the third time and the paintings are part of that focus.

hm Since you are getting away from pencil and inked pieces, please send my your Bill Sienkiewicz cover.

Thanks.

Better chance then, I like the Zeck cover more :)

Off to Mississippi, see you all after the weekend!!!

Where you headed in my great but former state?

Had a great weekend at Bob & Carol Overstreets house. Pam and I flew down with Jim and Linda Payette to celebrate Bob finishing the pricing for the guide this year!

We had to wait until it was finished because he will not allow anyone involved in the hobby to be there while he is pricing. His 38th OPG, what an incredible thing this man has done for our hobby! (worship)

He and Carol are the best! We had a blast! Not only did we have a great time, but I won $1200 at the casinos and Pam won $200 :o
