What model Microtek?

 

Does the software allow for "Despeckle" as a default? The HP scanner forces you to hit that option before every scan.

 

Is the background on the model black and not white? (you indicated using white paper on the scanner).

You are not forced to use anything.

 

The background is black. You can remove it, but I prefer to have a white background so I just used double stick tape and an 8.5 x 14 piece of paper.
