Looking around I get the feeling that the price includes a 'hot artist' + 'hot title' premium. It's probably not the ideal choice for a someone who hasn't collected OA.

 

It's defintely not ideal if you don't plan on hanging onto it for a while. That's a sure recipe for taking a loss. If you really love a piece, know you'll have it for the long-term, can afford to have a sizable amount of $ tied into it and not care, then go for it. Otherwise, it becomes more of an impulse buy...which just leads to lost money in the short run.

That sounds like a sound conclusion. With experience you will get to the point where if you really want it you'll just buy it, price be damned, but with any new hobby the focus is usually on not getting ripped off. Then again, in this hobby you will find that one persons getting ripped off is another persons steal of the week.
