What Is The Best Sniping Software......

26 posts in this topic

In researching this - I have read a lot that ebay plan to block all of these programmes to drive traffic towrd their own recently introduced system 'bid assistant'.

Do you think there is truth in that? Has anyone used bid assistant yet ?

hm

Never heard of this alleged system, and such talk does sound a bit alarmist.

Rather like a lot of your posts. :P

Sorry mate, hadnt meant to sound alarmist :/ Was just trying to do some research into this before picking one. Just got a little wary when bidnip asked for my ebay username and password - but seems like no-ones had any trouble.

re that ebay bid assistant talk - just something i read on the auction sniper forum...Ill paste it below for you to see - but think you are right in thinking there is no truth.

Hello to fellow London collector also ;)

PASTE BELOW FROM OTHER FORUM

I THINK THEY JUST DID.

A randon verification code must be entered on Ebay UK sites now (sniping software failed and Ebay response is below)

And Ebay just happen to be launching their own bidding software ***New - Bid Assistant***!!

Hello,

Thank you for writing us again. I understand that you are being asked to

enter a verification code while bidding on an item. I am sorry to learn

that this issue is still not resolved. I am happy to assist you further

in this matter.

We have introduced this security measure to prevent inappropriate use of

sniping softwares on eBay.

Why did we do this?

It has been brought to our attention that some members have been using

sniping softwares to place bids in the last minutes of auction and

outbid other members. The security confirmation is intended to prevent

such bids from being placed using sniping softwares by requiring a

manual input of the numbers displayed. A number of other eBay functions

also use a confirmation code to prevent their misuse. Security measures

like this are a common practice.

We can understand that it may be tedious to enter a code every time.

However, we are confident that these changes will restrict the usage of

sniping softwares to prevent members from bidding in the last seconds of

the auction.

I hope this information answers your question. Thank you for using eBay.

Kind regards,
