The Marvel Villain Survivor Series - FINAL RESULTS

21 posts in this topic

Here is the Final List and stats for this Survivor Series. No great surprise it was Dr. Doom or that Magneto was #2. The number before the character is a possible seeding for a NCAA-style Tournament. That was my original idea and to include prizes, etc. But there was no good way to come up with the seeding. I'm not sure exactly how we would assign the characters to members here nor whether anyone would be interested. One way I thought was to give out "groups" of villains and have a point system as to how far a character went. That way one person didn't get Dr. Doom only and had the best shot to win it. Regardless, this would n't go until March or April, if at all.

Hope everyone enjoyed it. The Watcher will provide us with the next Survivor Series.

I will say that the discussion was pretty good at times and I'm thankful for Sal's Baron Zemo fixation and the ensuing dialogue. lol But, it was missing a bit of an edge that the Top Silver Age & Bronze Age Series had. Maybe it was JC's absence? He definetly added a dynamic to it, whether you liked it or not.

Do the same thing with the DC villains and then take the top half of each set of seeds and bracket them off.

(shrug)

Baron Zemo, we hardly knew ye...but it was sufficient enough for us to know you suck

Give me awhile and let Angelo run his one next and the DC Villain one has possibilities. Of course, like the Marvel one, we know the final survivor of the DC one also. (thumbs u

I think the edge was missing because all the villains were Marvel. If you'd had Doom vs. Luthor or Joker etc, the discussion would have been more heated, I'm sure!

Baron Zemo should have won. :(

Yeah, glueing your mask to your face is no sillier than putting a red hot iron mask on your face ala Doom. :gossip:

Hey, why are the first four in order of finish, then the next four are not (alpha?)?

Yes, I'm ticked you slammed Thanos behind losers like Doc Ock.

You should have piped in! Welcome back JC.

Because I remembered to do it when I set the Excel spreadsheet in order based on the seedings. I figure if we ever have the NCAA style tourney, the "seeding" is more important than the "order".

Thanos would've appreciated your support. lol
