There's a lesson in there somewhere...

Yep, buy what you like. Don't get caught up in anything.

The buyer announced over on the ValiantFans.com messageboard

that he had been wanting the book, the time was right for him,

the price was right for him, and that he's sure the next one will

be much cheaper.

He didn't want the next one.

I sold 1 with no coupon for about $600 or something a few months ago. I figured this one would go off huge. Congrats to the seller.

Ya, me to. It took me a while to get used that all my Philly teams come on at here in SoCal so early with the 3-hour time zone difference.

It should be a fun NL East race to watch this year.

Def will come down to the Phils or the Mets this year.

Since this will be my only chance to cheer for them while they are in first place.....

Go Astros!

I will be seeing your team in two weeks when I am home in Philly for a week prior to attending the NY Comic Con.

Prob see Houston vs Philly twice during their weeks games.

As long as Roy Oswalt is not on the mound you should see two victories.

Put the pipe down. Mets are winning the division by 10 games ^^ I picked the Phils to be the WC team though ;)

Great pitcher.. would win 20-22 if he was on the Mets :foryou: .. Still going to win 17 this year for the 'stros though

Valiantman, do you know the print run on this book?

It was around 45,000.

10% or so were probably sliced for the coupon.

Thats pretty low for a 90s comic

It's in line with current numbers, of course...

but it was really low for "mainstream" in the 1990s.

Valiant is unloved/blamed/despised/hated/vilified/etc. for its high print runs,

but those didn't start until months later. Pre-Unity Valiants (before the glut)

are the books that Valiant collectors want...

the 1993 junk is still junk to a Valiant collector, too.

Many comic shops are full of the junk... many dumped it years ago (literally).

But it's likely that a few may have thrown the baby out with the bathwater.

Others are still storing only bathwater and complaining that it's all worthless.

They have none from Harbinger #1-#6, but they have a dozen of Harbinger #17. Sorry.

They have no Magnus #12 (first Turok in Valiant), but they have 100 copies of Turok #1.

They don't have any Rai #1-#5, but they've got a box of Rai #9. Who doesn't.

99% of everything by all publishers is junk. This is news? :insane:
