Another DD #180....much better overall....very light bend back left corner and tiny back upper spine bump. Front presents like a NM...so I'm going to call it a VF+ overall even though it sure looks nicer. $8

Humbug....#9....printing error as cover only has the bottom staple and no top staple. Cover is loose..and 1 1/3" spine split at bottom.....quite an interesting read....different from average comic with mad like interior stories and text.

Call it a Good? $10

Not quite as nice as the Newstand copy minor cover curls at the overflash on the bottom right and top right. Still probably an 8.0-8.5

The Lone Ranger Large Feature #7.. (Whitman 715)..1939 hi-yo Silver the Lone Ranger to the Rescue. Listed as Scarce on page 708 of the overstreet and then priced on page 721 at $906 in VF. My price $750 I guess if this doesn't sell, it's the type of book that would have to go to Heritage to get more exposure.

Listed as a Gerber 7 (21-50 in existance) on page 424 of the volume 2 gerber. Note the Large Feature version is pictured not the Whitman 715 version. I really don't know if there's a difference in scarcity between the two versions...but this one's not pictured in gerber if that tells you anything.

This is an oversized book, and is extremely rare in high grade. Obviously no CGC copies at this time due to slabbing constraints. This copy is extremely nice and I've graded it as a VF-.

Here's how I came up with the grade.

No spine splits

nice fresh colors and pages

very small bottom right corner crease approximately 3/8" triangle as can be seen in the scans. If not for this crease, I'd have gone with a grade of VF+.

very minor upper center edge non color breaking bend

1/8" tiny bindery tear on back of spine at top

very tiny color scrap on back 1/32" diameter

very minor edge color flaking top and bottom on back cover from production.

If this is the type of book you collect or you're looking for a rare gem for your collection,

Here's a fun read...I remember these as a kid, especially #4 with Kolchak the "Night Stalker" parody. The warbles you see are on the bags...I did take them out to confirm grades......call them all VG range even though they present much much much nicer.

ARRGH #1-4 :news: SOLD to Coinaddict..thx :news:

#1 Would have been a VF/NM but has water warbles (no staining)

#2 Would have been a VF but has water warbles (no staining)

#3 Would have been a VF+ but has very minor water warbles (no staining)

#4 VG/FN or so
