That has got to be the ugliest 9.6 I have ever seen...I hate off centered books though.

 

Hrmm, I have a raw Avengers 57 that is extremely nice, it could get a 9.6, maybe I should get it graded and sell it.

Seeing as he never has bought from Zillaf-4 before today, I would venture to say he has been reading the boards and seeing all the praise Zillaf has been getting from others. I can't think of any other explanation as too why he would drop $270 for a raw VF Avengers 23

 

I was thinking the same thing, myself. The discussions of Zillaf-4's auctions made me take a look and put a number of the Spider-Man on watch. I, too, was surprised at raw books going for over guide... so little guarantee that the grading was accurate. All it takes is a few dimples and light bends on a cover to keep a grade down.

I've been debating the pros and cons of making a purchase of a fairly pricey HG GA book, but I think these nutty SA prices have convinced me to go for it. In comparison to these final prices, the book I'm buying is a comparative steal.

 

If I ever get back into SA in a meaningful way, I think I'll stick to the unloved 8.0s and 8.5s.
