Yep 1,400$ can't lose here, even if there is some trimming. Zero to very little chipping on right edge is pretty rare for this book. My first impression was 4.5 to 5.0. The signature kind of sucks since it can't be verified, not that I would really doubt its authenticity too much, since it would just be really stupid to try and forge a signature on a book that is already worth umpteen dollars. At that price you could spend 1200$ or so on resto and have something that looks totally amazing for less than 3k. Your friend got a good deal.
