That looks pretty gross without color...I can't be the only one thinking that...am I?

How so?

I know I should turn 6 already, but look at it again...

I have a good example... My LCS he told me horror story of how he ripped off 10 TWD 1 covers and mailed em back to diamond for reimbursement. How many other LCS's did that? He still has 10 copies of the guts and no covers. :sorry:

Um...none. An LCS isn't like a magazine store or book store that get to return their unsold copies. Diamond doesn't take books back like this. You order whatever you order, and unsold stock becomes back issues.

Your LCS is giving you a fish story.

Jim

Diamond may not take them back, but the publisher might. Isn't this (kind of) how the super rare Wolverine Deadpool RI cover came about? That wasn't technically a return for unsold copies, but a similar scheme.

I do know that Diamond (or whoever distributed comics in the 90s) would take returns in this fashion. My LCS used to have a box of free cover less comics. I asked him what happened to the them, and he said he returned the covers for credit.

The fact that he hasn't bought or sold anything in a year to me makes it even more believable that he's REALLY out of the loop on FMV for the comic.

I'd take my chances and get my money back via AMEX or paypal. Just saying, the odds are there, but not everyone is scheming.

Yup. With the amount of protection eBay gives buyers now, I'd just use my CC through paypal for triple protection.

Still though, the boards are the best. Very thankful I found this place. Especially for the OA.

Speaking of, which one of you jerks bought the 111 cover?

Losing $300 for a month costs me about $300 so I tend to pass. That being said when business is slow I do buy listings like this. I can almost guarantee it's a payday loan for the seller. Of all the transactions I engage in this type is the least likely to succeed.
