Grading impact of a short cover

you may be able to see in this scan that the cover is a little shorter than the book, leaving a sliver of the first page visible. how would this impact the grade, do you think? if the book is otherwise a 9.8, what would this defect make it? Or perhaps CGC doesn't consider this a defect in the first place?

ASM 300 had issues with the right edge to begin with. I have seen many 9.6's with jagged edges and short covers. In fact I have owned 2 myself cut that way.

It shouldn't affect the grade at all. There were issues from the way the book was cut.. So you should be fine. The right edge on some of the ASM 300's look really nasty. But it is a production flaw.

I have a 9.6 with the right side exactly like that...you should be fine...
