The cover looks tongue-in-cheek. Is that what the stories are like?

Would this be a good try-out? Is it 24-25 or 25-26?

Yeah, Really one of my favorite Hellblazer stories is in #25 & 26 You should read them if you get the chance, but they can be a bit trickier to find than other issues.

What year are these German comics from? DM 1,40 is like 50 cents or so when the dollar was 3 DM to a dollar so I am guessing like late 70's or early 80's?

Yep, 1975-76. I was on a pretty tight budget, but I picked up a few issues from my favorite DC and Marvel titles to remind me of home.
