These Cardy covers are a breath of fresh air after the Kirby run. Nothing against Kirby, but this looks a lot more like what Jimmy Olsen is supposed to look like.

Wow, there are some serious perspective issues with this scene. The people in the crowd are looking back over their shoulders to see Superman, but he's only just breaking through the ring. And for some reason Superman is giant compared to the people in the front row.

 

 

When it comes to Superman covers from this era, it's best to not think about them too much because many of them are just too damn silly.

An interesting issue....the first mention of a "Comic Book Shop" where DC comics are sold for hundreds of dollars??? What nonsense...only in a comic book..

 

In this issue Diana is put in a trance and relives a Golden Age WW story. In this issue, Andru and Esposito ape HG Peter's style and its HORRIFIC... an ugly trend that would come to a head a couple of issues later.
