So why did they split ASM into Vol. 2 for a couple issues? I need a history lesson.

 

The bigwigs at Marvel decided to restart the title at # 1 back in 1998?

and they infamously found that the readers like the older numbering

so they first placed the new V2 numbers and the older numbering system

(around issue 56) and when the older numbering system hit 500

then the ASM title went back to V1...

 

Insane but true...

 

I think I got it right off of memory.
