I'm sure this has been said before, but anything by Alan Moore is worth reading. Even his lower quality stuff is always interesting and better than the average comic. I just read the TPB for Supreme and really enjoyed it...great Superman homage.

 

And I started to read Promethea and it seems fun too. Alan Moore is a god among Ants.

 

I wish they would finally get the Miracleman rights straight, so they could reprint the TPBs of this Moore series. It is one of his best and I don't see it mentioned that often, because I suspect that many people haven't read it.
