It RARELY turns up for sale above 9.2.....tough dark cover. On the other hand it's fairly common in 8.5 to 9.0. If I were chasing movie hype i'd rather have a 9.0 ASM 6 for about the same $$$$$. GOD BLESS...

I could see a 9.6 with white pages fetching 11x guide, but a 9.4?

 

Yes, $5000 for whatever lack of minor imperfection the 9.6 has in comparison makes sooooo much more sense.

and didn't warren buffet say it's a good time to BUY in the stock market now? i'm sure he didn't say collectibles market.

 

There must be more than a few collectors that have rooms of cash that just don't care what a book is worth. It's the only explanation that makes sense to me.

 

Couple that with those who will have what they want at whatever the cost- whether or not they can afford it, and you have price escalations like this.
