Hulk question: Why is it that.....

You mean 102, not 101? All crossover appearances by other characters are popular, not just Hulk crossovers (look at TTA 57 for example).

From Hulk 102-200 there are several key/standout books - 118 (subby), 122 (ff), 136 (1st Xeron), 140 (1st Jarella), 141 (1st Doc Samson), 145 (25-cent giant), 162 (1st Wendigo), 166 (1st Nick Nolte as Zzaxx), 172 (X-men app), etc.,.

Compare this list to the "key" issue list for Cap, DD, FF, Thor, Iron Man, Subby, and all the other Marvel titles from the '68-75 time period and you'll see a similar number of key books - not many. If the original Hulk series would have extended past #6, I'm sure there would be plenty of key book in the early/mid-60's. Unfortunately, the absence of a Hulk title during the peak period of Marvel's creativity (1961-1965, when they created the Marvel universe as we know it) means fewer Hulk keys than some of the other titles.

Yo Joe - got the last panel for 169 and the splash for #170?

That's the controversial panel sequence - in 169 she's just changed back from a nekkid Harpy and is falling from the Bi-Beast's "lair", and in 170 she mysteriously has brown-baggish clothes on as her and Banner plummet towards certain doom...or is it? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif 170 may be my favorite comic book...
