So Is Hellblazer the longest running post bronze comic?

The only thing I can think of that is close, and will likely be surpassed is Cerebus. If it does surpass cerebus, does that make it the longest running comic since the Silver age? Am I missing another contender?

If you consider the fact that it has had no reboots or drama like that, If it beats Cerebus I think it will be the longest running comic since Uncanny X-men, which is crazy impressive.

It predates Sandman, but lived in the shadow of it's younger Vertigo sibling, never quite gaining the hyperbolic accolades of that or other titles. Maybe that's why it's lasted so long. The old 'keep quiet, keep your head down, and keep going' approach

 

OK so it had a hollywood 'adaptation' and has picked up a few Eisner awards. I love the book obviously, but I'm sometimes surprised it's managed to survive so long.

As it was coming out I read from #1-33, gave up. Read from 41-60, gave up, then from around 140-170, gave up. I have not been helping the print run any. Maybe I should give it a go again.

What's really lame is that DC and Marvel, in their desperate search for $$$$, have jettisoned 75 years of history in favor of "#1s"

 

Justice League would be in the 500's by now.
