Which late issue Disney Gladstone's are worth picking up?

23 posts in this topic

Very few graded sales on gpa. A few disneys were sold early on in cgc's life (before gpa) and did very poorly. I remember seeing don rosa himself buy a 9.6 US 219 for $15 on eBay during this time. Prices have picked up a bit of late but there remain very few graded late issue disney sales on eBay

US 219 sold apr 2003 9.6 for $49.99. No 9.8s in gpa's database.

NO US 210 sales in gpa's database.

WDCS 511 9.8 sold for $67 and change in apr 2003. No 9.6s in database.

I decided to check out how those treasuries did.... here are the results:

(all are treasuries. USA = Uncle Scrooge Adventures)

USA 31 = 18.50

USA 32 = 22.72

USA 33 = 71.00

USA 34 = 56.00

USA 35 = 22.50

USA 36 = 56.00

USA 37= 56.00

USA 38 = 56.00

USA 39 = 52.00

USA 40 = 78.43

USA 41 = 20.50

USA 42 = 32.88

USA 43-49 = 15.00 to 20.00 apiece.

I'm surprised at the strength of the issues in the 30s but they were all bought by one single collector. Are the issues in the 30s rarer? I wouldn't think so.. to me it appears that "pingry" had a "jgreen" moment... but these late number do seem to legitimately worth $20 each, which ain't bad if you've got a stack of them...
