Why isn't CGC attending Heroes?

82 posts in this topic

I know Wizard World Philly with on site grading is the same weekend, but they have split conventions before.

Can they not spare two employees for a booth at Heroes? (shrug)

I think their goal was to go to show you weren't going to be at.

The bigger question is why do you want them there?

The only time I have seen them at heroes was just in a booth as a PR tool to

advertise their services.

Unless I am wrong I don't think they have ever done on-site grading there.

Dealer lineup this year does not lend itself well to onsite grading.

Really, who there would have a large selection of "CGC ready" (ie lotsa HG) books, apart from Dale?

Heroes is a great show, but more box-divers than slab hunters.

I have a box full of slabs that need reholdering. It would be nice to take them to a convention I was attending that was fairly close to home.

They go to several podunk conventions across the country, I figured Heroes was large enough to warrant their presence. I guess not.

Makes no difference. I can hold on to my cracked cases a little longer, I suppose.

Elementary my dear Watson, I do believe you got it!

(thumbs u

That doesn't really make sense as most dealers are not slab dealers. Ritter, Dale, Storms and Harley probably account for the majority. That doesn't mean that people would not be interested in tendering books for submission.

Because of Ali-Jae's restraining order against you.

Word is they've been swamped with recent submissions aiming to beat the upcoming (and now present) price bumps. Perhaps they need staff to keep things moving at HQ. (shrug)

...because Philly is better. :hi:

That remains to be seen.

If I was a dealer or CGC I would pick Philly over NC.

More money in the North East.

Not sure which is better con as I really don't like WW very much, but my gut says the money is at that show.
