Old CGC cases?

If pressing is wrong, then I don't wanna be right.

No worries there.

Hell, I learned a long time ago that being right was over rated... (thumbs u

How about being tight ? :/

Are you perpetually horny or something? Has the wife quit putting out? Oh, I get it. You are trying to be inducted into the DiceX Supreme Club of Vulgar. I heard that initiation was a real pain in the azz.

bada bing... :makepoint:

Ohh so thats what he means by old case. I thought he meant something about the case was different looking. I know what the old labels look like.

There was an alternate case design during CGC's first year, although I'm guessing that's not what the OP was referring to. CGC didn't originally have the "inner well" with the four indented corners. These cases did still consist of the hard, outer case with the Barex inner container, it's just that the inner container wasn't molded to fit a comic like it is now. Here's an example of a case which lacks the molded inner well:

I was actually referring to being a cheap-azz , but since your already a Dice standing member and your mind is always in the gutter , you took it to mean something vulgar as usual.

:gossip:...BTW , I never say or think anything vulgar...

hmhm ........standing member. :whistle::/

I should have used it on Cal. It would have been a more interesting thread, and I may have gotten a second strike.

I would have used a more colorful example using hookers and johns, but all the good words are spooned. :shy:

Too true. There were a few more that were better looking....but it wouldn't have been PG13.

collectors usually eye the old slabs like this now...

80274.jpg

because it is rumored that CGC was stricter on their grading back then

and thus a possible higher grade on a re-sub.

:gossip:

This is not always true. I have cracked, pressed and resubbed old label books only to get the exact same grade. The book visually looked better, but the grade remained the same.

Were any of them Pedigreed? :baiting:

Has there been any word with this?

CGC hitting the 1 million mark and people always trading up to the new CGC case because they do not like the look of the early CGC cases. Has anyone thought that owning an old CGC case with a high grade book could become a collector's item as well?

There are not that may old CGC cases out there as they are being sent in.

Any feedback would be great. I think having early CGC cases with books with the company that reinvented the grading system would be an item down the road.

Throw out the book and slab the case.

That's the ticket.
