It was pretty amazing seeing that 4.0 sell for $1950 last night on ebay :o

Hmmmm........looks like there might be an arbitrage opportunity to buy books from the auction houses now to flip on eBay. lol

This is your chance to get at least $2K for your copy. lol

:whee:

Too bad I bowed out on a couple of other copies shortly after that purchase that did not go much higher. :tonofbricks:

I think we have mention in one of Saget's thread to buy like mad if a 4.0 reaches near $1K. I think it's going to be quite difficult to grab a nice 4.0 under $1300 now. If you are planning to add one for your collection, a nice 5.0+ is where you want to accumulate. If SC22 can just reach half the value of AF15 in 5.0+, we have at least 40% more growth. Right now, SC22 in a minimum 5.0 can't be bought for less than $3K. I sense there are many many buyers wanting to buy in the $2200-2500 range. It's going to be a wild swing ride next year, when the movie hits.

I will definitely be happy if SC #22 hits half of the price in grade that AF #15 is at. (thumbs u

It was interesting that the 5.0 SC #22 did not break $2600 or meet reserve in the Qualitycomix auction this past week, yet the 4.0 hit $1950 on feebay. I wonder if the reserve was the main problem?

Could be the problem. Looks like if it becomes available again and if the reserve is not set to high, perhaps it might sell.

Show 22s are heating up again. Unfortunately, Brent's site doesn't get enough traffic for me to consider it an accurate gauge of sales right now. I'm not surprised the 4.0 got $1900 -- I'm starting to see the book get a little added heat after a cool down period.

(Figured this was the logical place to show this).

John Snyder (great well-known comic lover with amazing artistic talents...some may remember him in the ads of the Overstreets) sketched this for me. He uses various mediums for his art.

Note the illumination of the ring & lantern in this "changing of the guard" scene, the bold greens in the wreckage, and the slow death of Abin...

Just gorgeous and iconic !

Not a bad price...too bad the tapes on it.

If it did not have the tape I would have snagged it at that price. I thought a bit about taking it anyway, but decided to hold off. Brian probably has another copy or two in reserve. lol
